This is the previously uncirculated convention recording of ‘You And I’; an (Almost) instrumental of the track (There are some backing vocals present). Unlike the album version this track doesn’t fade out, so there is some extra material present. At the end of the song there is some ad-libbed piano and drums. link
I’m also uploading an upgrade to the Coming Soon instrumental jam convention recording. The most common version in circulation has some annoying distortion, whereas this version has a much clearer sound. link
Lastly, for those who may have missed my original share, is the full version of the Tenement Funster convention recording. Part of this recording has been around for ages, but this is unedited and complete. link
I hope you all enjoy these tracks; there will be more material on its way very soon!
WOW! Thanks very much!
Regarding the Coming Soon upgrade, I think the older source actually comes from a different recording or even a different convention (I think Greg usually played the same things at Prestatyn and then in Holland). Comparing them side-to-side, they have different audience noise and people talking in different places.
Interestingly, the old source of Tenement Funster has the same sort of distortion and background clicking noise as the old Coming Soon source.
Jam Monkey = LEGEND!
Thanks again :)
I fully understand now, why You And I ends with an fade-out on the album :-)
This version sounds like - "ok, we got to finish it somehow, but we have absolutely no idea how"
Very nice, thanks
Fascinating to hear that the piano intro to FOTW was also on the Tenement Funster tape. (and Freddie breaking it off at the end)
This means they actually had to mix something to make the standalone version of the song.
