i thought about that to from time to time, i dont know when it was started, id LOVE to find out when Queenzones birthday is, we can have a party, and id love to know egactly WHO the first member of Queenzone was,
The oldest version I was able to find comes from February 29, 2000 but it did exist before, I have a feeling I used to read it in the last century link
It was "Richard's Queen Page" when I first came here in late '96, if I recall correctly. Richard Orchard is the first Queenzoner, and I'm sure he'd know when it was set up. ;-)
I came across Queenzone in around '96 or '97. I remember it was a bit different than the link posted above and I don't remember being impressed by it.
I think I started posting at the Queen Fan Club forum in 1999 (maybe before?) but then it crashed with Y2K (only case ever heard of) and some of the users migrated to a page called QueenRocker in 2000. I don't remember if that site went down or what happened but shortly after that I ended up here at Queenzone.
Then I think Queenzone crashed in the summer of 2001 and we all had to register again. I didn't do it until December 2001 but I had been 'lurking' for a while by then. The old forum version allowed you to see when you had first signed into the forum.
I don't post that much but I certainly like to be here and I check it every day. I would love to hear Richard's version of the story and also any additional comments from long time users.
Perhaps we can even make one of those "memorials" remembering those users who no longer post here... :P hehe
Long Live 'the Zone'.
It would be interesting to read the site back then. I sometimes browse through old Queen websites (Those that are still available to read). It's funny to read things like 'There's alot of rummours about a track called Silver Salmon', or 'It's possible Queen recorded Polar Bear'. How things have changed...

Other interesting comments or news many years ago, which were discussed a lot:
- Brian and Roger booking a studio and writing songs in early 1999. "The idea is to write the songs and then find the ideal singer"
- Someone asking Jim Beach about when the Queen boxed set was coming out and he said 2009. We all said "That can't be right. 2009 is WAAAAY TO FAR INTO THE FUTURE!"
- People thinking that the "+" in "Queen+ Greatest Hits III" meant that the whole Queen album had been re-recorded by Brian and Roger and was going to be released with GH3. Years later, we know what "Queen+" means.
- Roger saying that the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour would have a "rolling" setlist had all the fans drooling in anticipation.
People talking about Drammen '82 like if it were Queen's best performance ever only because it was not widely available.
etc... etc... It's been quite a ride :)
It is a really interested question you asked here. I saw people are sharing their ideas on different posts, but no one knows about it. I read from the best online essay writing services reviews about this place first and it is very helpful platform to get the answers to questions that I do not know.
