I like the rare ones where ALL members are interviewed at the same time...the one that springs to mind, for me, is the Mike Read interview from 1989 promoting the release of The Miracle.
Freddie called the album "fruity" and Roger said the album is not" fashionable" in any way...just pure Queen. I believe he said something like "we weren't trying to sound like whoever is current at the time...we weren't saying 'Oh let's try to sound like Prince'...LMFAO!
Also when the idea of a "Queen movie" is brought up, where they actually play THEMSELVES in the movie(lol!) Roger says "Oh God, that would be horrible" and Freddie in typical style says "Oh, how boring".
Also Freddie tries to explain why he doesn't want to tour anymore...saying he wants to break the tedious cycle of 'tour, album, tour album'....fascinating in retrospect.
And yes, I am one of the seemingly few that actually LOVES The Miracle.
Loved it when it came out...still love it now.
I've always enjoyed the 3 'In The Studio' shows. It was facinating to get an insight in those albums, especially finding out that All Dead All Dead (One of my favorites) wasabout Brian May's cat.
TBH...that kind of sucked for me...such a lovely, melancholy song...and it was about his CAT!
Still love this song...but I always try to block out what I heard was Brian's inspiration! LOL and just visualise what i always, personally , thought this song was about.
Anyways,News Of The World has always been EPIC!
I agree with JM and PrimeJive, all fantastic interviews. I am also a very big fan of those David Wigg interviews on the Freddie boxset (I know, not technically Queen but still great). This is actually a strange one for me to debate, because I usually hate interviews and would normally skip them if bonus material on DVDs...I'm all about the music!
I like the Freddie interview with the Portugiese woman - when she first ask Freddie the questions in Portugiese, and he answers the question, and then she ask the same questions in English, and Freddie just laugh and poke her face...
