so, we've all heard about Queen comeing back sometime next year and touring and doing some studio work. so if they do make a new album some time next year will you be buying it or not? for me, HELL YEAH! i'd be getting something that counts as being modern music but isnt shit like all modern music :P also because its Queen were talking about here, they are GODS! tho Freddie's dead and John's retired yes it wont be the same, but since Brian and Roger are still in it they'll make it good ;) and if they sing OMFG it will be heaven ^_^ <3 please Brian and Roger sing in the album! |

Well, they did release an album with new material back in 2008, but I'm sure you already knew that, being a stalker and all... |

lifetimefanofqueen, re: >for me, HELL YEAH! i'd be getting something that counts as being modern music but isnt shit like all modern music :P Clearky you don't listen to much "modern" music then. Try The Killers or, better still, Black Country Communion. There's no way on earth that what's left of Queen could ever come up with something as dynamic as that. Brian and Roger should toddle off in to the distance and concentrate on their own individual careers. |
Bo Rhap 05.10.2010 14:08 |
I thought Brian was concentrating on Kerry. |

HELL NO! i LOVE old music. its a distraction and escape from reality, its like another world, modern music is just not my taste, and i dont think Brian and Roger should just fade away form public forever, its great to know what the guy who saved your life is up to and all that. |

There is a lot of great modern music. You may just have to look beyond the 'Top 40' stuff to find something you can get into! It's out there, kid. I promise. As for a new Queen album... I think the most we'll see is a new track or two. |

I got a similar reaction when I mentioned a forthcoming tour, lifetimefan. I heard from a trusted source (one who works on most major gigs and events here in Glasgow) that there was talk that Queen had put in orders for lighting and stage equipment for a tour next year. 9 times out of 10, anything I'm told by him that's coming up actually happens. There's been lots of talk about Brian and Roger doing some sort of tour next year, but it remains to be heard whether or not it is just them or if they will have a singer like last time. They were supposed to be hitting the studio again too, but it may just be hearsay. So I'm not sure if you're right about a new album, but it may be a possibility. It's not an unrealistic wish. |

i stay in glasgow and i heard that wee whisper about them coming next year but its not going to happen under the name queen, it will be the same as 1998 and 1999, both 1 show as solo artists then probs in 2012 as small tour together probs small venues like royal concert hall or barrowlands but defo not places like the SHTTY SECC(as its a barn) or Hampden. also hope they do there oan singing as q+pr was PATHETIC the show at SECC was drivel compared to manchester or barcelona :( |

I'd buy anything that was Queen if I had the money. lol |

i would relish any new queen album, as i think brian + roger are still relevent, and why not use the name queen, as brian + roger were queen long before john, or even freddie for that matter, maybe not in name but definetely had there not been smile, there would not have been queen, so bring on an album, tour, one off gigs or whatever they feel comfortable with. queen supported me through those difficult teenage years, so maybe it's time for me to payback that support |

Maybe they should work with Rick Rubin to try and rejuvinate their sound, it has worked for a lot of other musicians. |

There is no way that Brian & Roger will produce another great album, but it's not because they are no longer talented. They are still wonderful musicians, and if Robert Plant can continue to produce brilliant work, I don't see any reason why Brian & Roger can't. If they set their minds to it, which is the biggest problem with them in recent years. I'm not convinced that they have the drive to produce challenging and high quality work anymore. What I would really love is if Brian % Roger sang the vocals themselves, such as with No-One But You (which showed IMO that Brian % Roger didn't need Freddie to produce wonderful work), but it's unlikely to ever happen. |

I get the feeling that most Queenies who want Bri & Rog to keep the Queen name out of their future endeavors are those who have seen Queen in the good ol' days with Freddie & John. An unintended consequence of America's Queen revival via Wayne's World is that today's generation, of which I'm a part, never got to see original Queen in concert. Since we never got to enjoy a real, live Queen concert, we long for the chance to see whatever remnant of Queen that we can before they give up or die. Yes, I realize that, if Bri & Rog went solo or did work together as May + Taylor, we could still see them, but it's not quite the same saying "I saw Queen in concert" as opposed to "I saw 2 guys who were in Queen in concert." I'm not crapping on those who believe the Queen name should be retired because you all have a valid point. Having seen the original glory, you know that anything else is just lesser and feels insulting. However, those Queenies who want to see more Queen want to experience that lesser experience, knowing full well that it'll never be the same, because that's all we have. Imagine if you had the best chocolate in the world, but could only get a small amount of it; it would be great, but every time you ate chocolate after that, that lesser chocolate would taste like crap compared to the best chocolate ever. If you had never eaten the greatest chocolate, the lesser would taste fine, even if someone had told you there was better chocolate out there. (BTW, I experienced this with Cadbury chocolate after I visited England; now all the American chocolate I eat pales in comparison.) |
