No probs guys. I realise only a scant few like these kind of things, but they are still worth posting. |

Hi there, Really pleased that you enjoyed the Queen interview Jason got with Spike. I must ask that you remove the rapidshare link from this forum and remove the file from rapidshare altogether. This audio is copyright MediaWorks NZ Ltd and was never made available for sharing away from the link you have posted. Just a polite ask between mega Queen fans :) Thanks for understanding. On behalf of MediaWorks NZ ltd, Duncan Wilson |

You can have a moderator or admin check my email address if you like... I'm the chief editor of RadioLIVE.co.nz... I work for MediaWorks NZ and I'm just asking politely for the rapidshare link to the audio be removed :) |
pittrek 26.09.2010 03:47 |
Oops :-) Thanks for the share, but I think it's more safe to remove the file, while the guy asks for it politely :-) |

Both links removed, couldn't be bothered promoting your poxy little radio station. It's an awful shame that a grown man is so petty he has nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon, than police the internet for copyright infringements. A 16 minute interview? don't make me laugh. It's an awful shame too that Spike gave his time to such a narrow minded little set up. If the rapidshare link was from the BBC or some other large corporation, there would be no request to remove it. All the best Duncy |

Gregsynth wrote: Wait a minute, I think that post was a "fake." Do you really think someone would make a brand-new account on Queenzone, just to ask to remove a link? Also, I don't recall any "official" person putting ":)" on the ends of sentences. I suspect that it's a troll. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ I thought it was a wum too to be honest, then I noticed that the user had a total of three posts, two of them in this thread. So where is post number three? Here, nearly a week ago link Seems old duncy is genuine, he joined up to post a link from the website he is employed to edit. Shame he posted it in a forum nobody really ever looks at. It beggers belief that in all the years I have been here, and all the material that I have downloaded in both video and audio from other major T.V and Radio stations around the world, that this guy gets his knickers in a knot over a simple radio interview. As I said above, small time set up, small time mentality. Thanks for your valued 'contribution' duncy. |

It really amazes me how childish some of the people here at Queenzone are, I am a regular on a number of forums and while I recognise that there are a lot of nice friendly and generous people here, it is by far the most peutlant forum I have ever visited. |
duncwilson 26.09.2010 15:14 |
Wow. Far out guys. I was only politely asking that the audio be removed, since it was copyright and I didn't want the forum or the user who uploaded to face further requests. Not me that makes the rules, pal ;) I joined this forum because I thought some of its members might be interested in the interview and I posted the link up several days ago (see here... link ) The Aussie/NZ Queen fan club let me know about this thread, since we've established some decent contact over this interview and I am myself a huge Queen fan. Wasn't like I was stopping anyone listening to or enjoying Spike's interview, since the LIVE audio player works for anyone with a flash enabled browser. Certainly didn't mean for this to turn nasty either, sorry that some of you took my polite request that way... Anyways, peace out, there probably won't be a next time, but til next time... I didn't ask that this link be taken down. I asked that the rapidshare link be removed, since it quite simply represented the possibility that it could end up on other content-serving sites, with no credit back to the original source. This has happened on numerous occasions to us at RadioLIVE and we've suffered some noticeable losses as a result, so pardon me for my job revolving around a bit of tightening up here and there. Fair use is fair use, I don't care if someone's ripped off a copy for Gran because she's anti-Adobe and doesn't want to sit at her machine to hear Spike talk, but I do have a responsibility to halt any credit-less viral sharing, or the potential of. Preferably before it happens. Once again, apologies for any insult caused to the fan base. I never meant to upset anyone quite this much. Duncy |

duncwilson 26.09.2010 16:03 |
Yes, Greg, I appreciate that there was original credit given to the station. I was trying to stop this audio turning up in other places, as a result of this rapidshare link. Next time I'll just get rapidshare to pull the link - much easier than a polite request on here! :) Duncy |

Duncan, I see your point of view, I really do, that's why I removed the link, as requested. When somebody from a media outlet addresses me with terms like copyright, and signing off with "On behalf of MediaWorks NZ ltd, Duncan Wilson" then I tend to not push my luck. The ONLY reason I posted a downloadable link is so the few(35 downloads) here interested in the interview could have a copy on their drive for future reference. Media sites like yours tend to delete/rotate content to save bandwidth. If for some reason I need to reference that interview in a year or 5 or 10, will it still be on your site? As I said above also, as a user I'm around here a long time, I downloaded Queen live at Hammersmith 1975 on dvd the day after it was broadcast on BBC2 last year, did someone from the beeb or Queen Productions turn up in that thread citing copyright? No. THEY WOULDN'T BOTHER. |

Clear the " < / a " off the URL |
duncwilson 26.09.2010 16:28 |
I see what you're saying about some media outlets removing links after a while etc, we have a full time SEO guy here at MediaWorks who would string me up if I did that. Plus I know it's wrong; they're called permalinks for a reason ;) Be assured that the link will continue to function throughout my time here and the person who takes over my role will be instructed along the same lines. I am also in the process of having our developer create a flagging system so people can alert us if ever a link does go down or fail to function - we can have it reinstated in those occasions. I am very passionate about having people visit RadioLIVE.co.nz - possibly too passionate - we've just reached the end of radio survey here in NZ and it's been a long six weeks - wasn't biting anyone's head off over this. And pleased to have a debate about content... :) Duncy |

duncwilson wrote: Clear the " < / a " off the URLOK, now I'm pissed. I copy pasted your link just fine, but what I meant was that THE FUCKING STREAM WILL *NOT* LOAD IN ITSELF ON MY END, and I don't know if it's a copyright feature or just bad routing. The URL thing wasn't my problem...this site has very bad coding on the forum, so of course links will not work for the most part when you click on them. Thanks a lot, Carrot Dangler |

link Does this one work for you? The tech guy has just informed me that... "The stream is RTMPe, which is regularly blocked by IT depts [around the world]." - not sure where you are listening. Do you have a firewall? Also, on a side note I've had issues with Firefox recently. It seems to use up memory by the dozen every time I open a new tab, even when the tab is closed it goes on using the memory and eventually locks up! Restarting FF usually cures this for me. |
inu-liger 26.09.2010 17:06 |
I am behind a firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro) but it shouldn't be blocking shit just like that, since I have Firefox's permissions set rather openly. However, I've noticed some small but very annoying issues with Flash ever since they came out with version 10.x I think it could also be Flash that's part of the issue |
inu-liger 26.09.2010 17:07 |
In any case, would any kind soul out there be kind as to send me (in private perhaps?) a link to the actual file itself?? EDIT: Thank you anonymous :-) |

Well see that's the thing...we CAN'T put the interview on Rapidshit because poor little Mr. Duncwilson trolls the Internets on a boring Sunday afternoon telling us he don't want us putting the interview there, for RIAA-level fears the interview won't make him a penny if that happens. |

Good to see so the pro corporate lobby on Queenzone I'm guessing you don't own any copies of the following. Rainbow 1974 (unless you own the box of tricks) Hammersmith 1975 (BBC) HydePark 1976 (BBC) Earlscourt 1977 (Queen Prods) Houston 1977 ( Queen Prods) Hammersmith 1979 ( Harvey Goldsmith ) Argentina 1981 ( National TV) Brazil 1981 ( National TV) Japan 1985 ( Japan only VHS?) Maybe you would like to delete these files if you have them? Duncan is a web developer, an award winning one at that. He wanted the download link removed for one reason, and one reason only. He felt the download link was robbing him of hits on his website. |
