Here is the full version of the the Tenement Funster convention recording. A edited version of this leaked some time ago, but this is the full track: link The track is an instrumental take, very close to the finished product. Depending on how this goes I might be persuded to share some more rare demos. I hope you all enjoy. For the full collection of demos I've put together please go here: link |

I wish there was some more information known about the stuff Greg plays. For example which take number it is , and so on. The date it was recorded. I'm afraid that when the boxsets come out there won't even be information about which take was recorded when and where. If I'm correct the FM Boxset also has bogus titles like 'Early Version, Later Version' and so on. I rather see stuff like Queen - Tenement Funster (Take 1-5) Queen - Good Company (Banjo-Ukelele Overdub Take 3 onto Take 12) Queen - All Dead, All Dead (Home Demo) Queen - Let Me Entertain You (Outro Out-takes) We need it well catalogued!! |

Jam Monkey 19.09.2010 07:12 |
Benn - It's not a question of being worthy, all serious Queen fans deserve to hear this stuff. What it is a question of is keeping my promises to other collectors, and retaining enough material to trade with (I doubt I have 10% of what is availible - so I need some bargining chips) |
Mr Mercury 19.09.2010 07:25 |

Jam Monkey - REALLY appreciate everything you're sharing here - THANK YOU muchly! So great to hear stuff I would never normally get chance to - I'm such an avid fan but a poor collector of rarities, so to have them posted here is really appreciated by peeps like me. Thanks |

Thanks for the Tenement Funster instrumental btw! I browsed through your medifire list and noticed demos from: Machines The Miracle The Invisible Man Scandal I Want It All Headlong After downloading and listening, my conclusion is that those demos are fake. Any other opinions? |
Jam Monkey 19.09.2010 08:20 |
People On Streets: The Face It Alone sample is not a convention recording, but where it came from I don't know. Yes, I do have it lossless. As for the demos, I might accept that Machine is fake, but the other demos have circulated for many years now. I think they first emerged on Demories Please Majesties over 10 years ago. I think has they been fake it would have been spotted by now. |

Also, I noticed you share some demo / takes in FLAC that previously only were available as mp3 sourced files. I compared my mp3 sourced files with your FLAC files and noticed the following: At first sight your files seem 100% from cdda (traders little helper) BUT after anaylising the wav. file with a spectrum anaylizer (EAC) it shows the EXACT same pattern as the mp3 sourced file. They all look like the mp3 sourced files. So basically this is what happened with your 'lossless' files : unknown source > mp3 > wav + "remastering" > flac > your share These are the files I'm talking about: A new life is born Hot Space demos Feel Like Hang on in there I guess we're falling out My baby loves me My secret fantasy Robbery Self made man Stealin' Rain must fall is an edit. A more complete version from this exists (one minute longer) Khashoggi's Ship is complete and from the same source. Both do exist lossless. Don't get me wrong. I think it's nice that you share over here! But please make sure you check your files (mp3 analyze) before sharing lossy mp3 sourced files as a FLAC file... |

@People on streets: I believe those tracks come from a bootleg CD, which unfortunately is lossy sourced. Re-encoding the files from the CD to a lossy format again would further increase the quality loss. |

GinjaNinja wrote: @People on streets: I believe those tracks come from a bootleg CD, which unfortunately is lossy sourced. However, I think it's best for all collectors to know wether a file has a lossy or lossless source. Including this type of info in a share would be a good thing to do in my opinion. |
GinjaNinja 19.09.2010 10:33 |
Also, the Machines demo is not fake. It is sourced from the Queen '84 documentary which shows Mack in the studio demonstrating the "Demolition Fairlight Programming" The original share is here, though the link is down. link |
Jam Monkey 19.09.2010 11:30 |
I was aware those tracks were from a Lossy source, but I decided to share them anyway because there were of a higher quality then I had heard before. They came from a CD bootleg I bought called 'Spaced Out'. The reason I didn't convert back to CD was because there would be a further loss is quality, and GN said. I am sure these demos exsist in lossless form somewhere, but it seems most people keep those versions for thier private collections. |

To me, this snippet seems to be similar to convention recording (except sounding, maybe this snippet was processed in the audio editor). |

I've said it before, and i'll say it again... until something is done about this!.... but someone....SIGN THAT VOICE!!! We definitely have to hear more from this ol bloke... I don't know where he's been hiding, but that voice is soooo ....sooo... discreet... so ....lithe... soo....POWERFUL! This "Property of Queen Productions" Man is the NEW THING... like the spaciousness and minimalism! I knew the 80's were coming back, but this guy is like an innovator!... Move over Brian Eno!!! I'm looking forward to this guy's work....he puts such a new spin on such a classic band. And they wonder where the hip hop artists got it from... "UH....YEAH.... UNH,...OO!" and Rihanna's "Hey ...eh...eh...eh.....eh, Eh EH EH!" and this guy was doing this .....IN THE SEVENTIES???!!! FU**ING AMAZZING!!!! Maybe he's Queen's very own "Fifth Beatle" like Billy Preston. He really deserves an outing...or at least a Remix... maybe along the lines of that guy Susan Boyle.... That one voice that just never had a forum.... what i would GIVE to hear that voice remixed... (oh BTW: thanks for the link... i haven't been able to track down the My Melancholy Blues BBC thing for years...thank you, sir!) |

Please accept my assurances this is not a convention recording. If you can't do that then that's fine to. |
Benn 21.09.2010 09:35 |
All this lossy, lossless, flac, mp3 stuff - never understood the point in all honesty. What you are getting is absolutely free to you. It's not purporting to be studio quality and as a result of being recordings of questionable origin, no one ought to be expecting anything else than just a sound file. Why can't people stop being prescious about all this and just enjoy what's there and be thankful that people are prepared to make this material available for all to hear in whatever format they choose? |
Jam Monkey 21.09.2010 13:25 |
Benn - You speak alot of sense. I'd rather hear a track in mp3 that not at all, and we all benefit from people sharing tracks. |
pittrek 24.09.2010 08:15 |
You won't like what I have to say, but are you 100% sure it's NOT a convention recording ? It's very hard to say from such a short sample, but it sounds to me like somebody simply removed the audience sounds in some audio editor. Thanks anyway |
GinjaNinja 24.09.2010 10:16 |
It would be one hell of a job to remove the crowd sounds in an audio editing program. The track may be many generations away from the master tape, and that could be a possible reason. To me it sounds like a genuine studio version, though slightly muffled. Just remember, it's better than having nothing at all! |
pittrek 24.09.2010 10:33 |
I'm not COMPLAINING, I'm ASKING |
Jam Monkey 24.09.2010 14:52 |
Pittrek - Yes I am 100% sure it is not a convention recording. I understand that it is hard to tell from the sample, but the whole thing is 5 minutes long and there's nothing in the entire 5 minutes to make me think it's convention. I've listened to all the convention demos, and even the ones without 'Property Of Oueen Productions' always have some noise (A cough, clap or chair squeaking etc) that give it away. The recording is also very clear and doesn't have the 'room' sound that conventions recordings do. To sum up, this is NOT a convention recording. |
pittrek 24.09.2010 14:56 |
Wow, that's great . I hope you decide to share it one day :-) |

The Real Wizard 24.09.2010 19:40 |
Who even knows if this is a demo? 'Demo' implies it was an actual take. This could just be a rough rehearsal while the tape was rolling. In fact, there are lead vocals from two different recordings mish-mashed together, so if this actually is a demo, it certainly isn't one single take here. It's a shame that none of this stuff is properly labeled. |

Guys, let's not antagonise when there is, clearly, an intention to share material that might not yet have appeared in the public domain before. I'm all for a good web-based ruck 'n' maul, but where someone appears to be doing something for the greater good, then let's observe Queensbury Rules. We ain't gonna get this stuff via official channels, so let's support those willing to circumvent the official process? |

As far as I know there are NO recordings of Queen Rehearsals, except for the Magic Tour Rehearsal which is on the Wembley DVD. |
