As I was about to turn right an hour ago, I saw a car filtering into the road that I wanted to cut across. I judged that I could beat him and promptly accelerated my car. At the moment that I stepped on the accelerator, I heard a scream which gave me a shock. It turned out to be Roger screaming at the beginning of the song In The Lap Of The Gods. What a scary coincidence ! |

It was a real shock - my heart beat very fast at that moment. Because I kept the volume low to concentrate on driving, I did not hear the music at all, just the screaming. Luckily it was just two lanes to cut across. |

I've been saying "India should never have been awarded the Games" to people and they assume it's a racist thing. They never let me finish my point, which is basically that no country should really be holding Commonwealth Games. In fact the Olympics should probably be shitcanned as well. A city like Dehli or Beijing should not be allowed to host Games. They beautify certain parts of the town to make things 'nice' in the eyes of the world, but the rest of the place? It's still a shit hole. Same thing happened with the Sydney Olympics. 'What's that, protesting aboriginals? Let's shove them in a cupboard some place ...' There was a wild bear chase in my town yesterday in the wee hours of the morning. Somebody spotted a bear near a rubbish bin in an almost rural residential area and sent the photo to the newsrooms. The concerned people reported the news to the police who cordoned off the area, and informed the zoo who sent twelve people to the scene, one armed with a tranquilliser gun. They and three members of the nature society spent hours searching for the animal. It turned out that time and energy were wasted in the name of a marketing campaign for a shaver. The bear was somebody in a mascot costume and the so-called news was a publicity stunt. Everybody was not amused. In my fine town, the people responsible for the publicity stunt are going to to be fined under the public nuisance act :-D |

Re: link (London 2012 Olympics) The tickets committee are trying to minimize empty stadium seats. The worst thing to do is to give the tickets free to the older school children to attend because they are very likely to attend for a short while and then disappear to do other things. The sponsers may buy the tickets and give them free to their clients but again there is a risk that many who get it free may not attend if they are not interested. |

I just read this case in the newspapers. A local lawyer sued an international airline for 3 boxes of missing sweets. He forgot to take the sweets when leaving the plane but when he tried to locate them later, the airline staff said no sweets were found. However on his way out of the airline's office at the terminal, he saw one opened box of his sweets with half of the contents remaining. Upon pursuing the matter, the airline staff apologised, tracked the remaining two boxes which had been given to the crew members and returned them to the lawyer by courier service. Somehow the matter was aggravated by the airline office's failure to attend court and the lawyer obtained judgment. In the end the matter was settled out of court. The moral of the story is don't mess around with lawyers :-) |

It's been so damn long since i posted drunk here, so here goes. I just tried a tough man snarl and it didnt fucking come out right (sounded downright pussy) so I did it again - it worked, I really sounded like Lennon about to give Cynthia five across the face, but apparently I was so loud that i woke my sister up because I just heard her telling me to shut the fuck up from down the hall. fuck communal living, I think its about time i got the hell out of this house. and I wonder why i'm effing single. I ate half a box of chocolate today, that stuff smells like desperation if you chow too much of it. |

SNOW!!!! ugh this means an early start to work tomorrow -_- so i was a dork and bought another keyboard i had as a kid (the original died a horrible battery-acid related death, much to my sadness). it was my favorite toy, and i always found it useful when coming up with ideas. cant wait to hear its annoying yet comforting semi-tones again. now with more parts! (i really beat the crap out of my beloved keyboard, oh yes i did. but it was all out of love XD) |

i hereby hand myself in. no longer does my opinion count for anything. do not - repeat- DO NOT trust my judgment on any matter, particularly any artistic matter. I have just watched Twilight for the first time. And i loved it. I loved every flipping nano-second of it. I realise it is extremely lame, and i realise it is utterly rediculous ( i mean, CLEARLY vampires dont sparkle :/ ) but i still loved it. And after watching it on dvd from the library, i proceeded to watch all the deleted scenes. And half the 'making of's bits. I cannot believe my life has come to this. Where will it all end?! |

THEN everything went fuzzy, ears started ringing and i started feeling sick... so i had to go home, but couldnt drive... so had to hang around for ages trying to get my back to let me walk... finally got semi-able to walk (could go straight but not bend or twist) so went to car, inched into it and drove.... and every time i changed gears ended up with tears running down my face it hurt so bad ARGH. Made it home... went to bed.... now its worse... WAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all i want for christmas is for things to start going well like a normal person! It's hard to put this thought together without sounding trite, but people with developmental disabilities so often shape their families and others around them in really profound and positive ways. They have a way of fostering joy and gratitude and perspective that really is a gift. I have an old sometimes boyfriend that I've always stayed friends with over the years who lost his stepdaughter in similar circumstances last summer. It's really changed their world. All this, I guess, to say I'm really sorry for your loss. It's a very tough thing. |
john bodega 08.01.2011 21:01 |
"people with developmental disabilities so often shape their families and others around them in really profound and positive ways" That's basically it in a nutshell! |
YannickJoker 08.01.2011 23:21 |
I'm sad to hear about your loss, Zebonka. I don't want to sound like an emotional cunt right now, but by keeping his memory alive he'll never really die. I know it's bullshit in a sense (not even talking about how cliché it is), but there's a real truth in there and to add to that I really don't know what else to say. |

I am so pissed off and also so happy LOL. First day back in college... in the first class, we had a lecture for a few minutes, then it basically turned into a storytelling session between the teacher and one or two students... so the rest of us just chatted among ourselves. I am one of those perfectionist 'i must please u' types... and i NEVER talk in class (like i never whisper to other ppl). And if other ppl try to talk to me, i answer in monosylables and ignore them. Anyway, today i was pissed that it was first day back and the teacher was letting the class go down the tubes, and was bored out of my mind, and me and my good friend (who also never whispers) were chatting LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. When the teacher spoke we'd shut up, and start again when the student would start talking. (Supposedly we learn through 'discussion' -- true, but not through long looonnggg pointless stories). Anyway, going out of class, the teacher stopped me and my friend... and told us that its v difficult to progress with class when ppl are talking. o.O And we were both in shock and didnt point out that it is difficult to learn when the lecturer is chatting with one or two students!!! Most of the class were laughing abt it all day, cos the two of us are the class swats!!! We get v high marks and work our asses off! And the ONE day we talked, we got in trouble, and noone else who was talking was spoken to grrrrrrr. Anyway, THEN we got unofficial results and feedback about our essays in another subject (official results out soon lol). And guess what... the two trouble makers are in the top 3!!!!!!! hahahahahahahha told my friend, i hope that teacher tells the teacher who pulled us up LOL. Im soooo happy... thought i did badly, and then got an A whoo hoooooo, and a good A at that! :D |

Is it weird that at times now, even though I've been enjoying working all the time since I graduated from high school and NOT having to be in such a boring place like that, at times I feel like I SHOULD be back in school (or college, uni) doing more course work? For crying out loud, I'm even having dreams lately that I'm in grade 13 half-assing it the whole time just so I can keep staying in school year after year....which makes absolutely no bloody sense at all, considering we don't even have grade 13 where I am, and I really would never intentionally force myself to repeat a year again! |

In the newspapers today, there was a article about young suicides accompanied by a cartoon from a famous taiwanese cartoonist, chu teh-yung, to discourage people from doing it. The cartoons depict a lady jumping down from a building and the captions for the respective pictures were as follows: 1. Jumping from the 11th floor.... 2. On the 10th floor, I see the loving couple from that floor fighting with each other 3. On the 9th floor, I see Peter, who is usually strong, weeping in secret 4. On the 8th floor, I see Ms Y finding her fiance in bed with with her good friend 5. On the 7th floor, I see Dan Dan taking anti-depressants 6. On the 6th floor, I see unemployed Ah Xin going through seven papers a day looking for a job 7. On the 5th floor, I see reverend teacher Wang wearing his wife's undies 8. On the 4th floor, I see Rose in another break up 9. On the 3rd floor, I see Uncle Y yearning for visitors daily 10. On the 2nd floor, I see Lily looking at a photo of her husband who vanished soon after their marriage 11. Before I jumped, I thought I was the unluckiest person in the world 12. Now I realise everyone has problems that others don't know about 13. After seeing them I realise that I was actually doing okay 14. All the people I saw are now looking at me 15. And perhaps after observing me, they will think that they are okay after all. |

I spent last evening being driven around select parts of the city by my newly licensed son. Over a year and a half ago he started a countdown clock on his computer that ticked off the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the day he could get his beginner's permit. It was such a joy to see him so happy, and while I expected to have a deathgrip on my imaginary girl racer roll bar, he actually did an amazing job. |

Lady Gaga is now demanding that photographers surrender the copyright of photos taken at her gigs and photographers are incensed. Copyright exists the moment the work is created, which in this case is the moment when a photographer clicks their shutter button! I never post news about Lady Gaga because I don't care about what she's doing or got to say, BUT THIS HAS MADE ME FURIOUS. I am a passionate photographer when it comes to gigs. I believe that we should own the copyright of our own fucking work. |

Then some other guy stopped and tried to help. People are just generally nice and good. Shortly after all that I finally reached someone and my son made his way over and changed my tire like a pro. :) |

ahhh, finally got car insurance sorted out. Kinda embarrassing in the end... rang a few companies, including the one i was with before (who i eventually renewed with). I HATE that kind of phone call, always have hated phoning companies. Anyway, the two salespeople i talked to in the company i was with last year were so incredibly nice, and extremely helpful, saying clearly what the parts of the cover are, and what i am and am not entitled to, were polite when i said i was phoning someone else, etc, and polite again when i phoned back. The first time, i thought it was a fluke, the second time i realised it must be required for them to be extremely polite, so i said it to the girl, that i spoke to two people in the company today and they were so helpful, that i hate phoning companies, etc, but they were so extremely polite... which was fine.... and she said thank you so much, wuold u like to speak to my manager and feed that back to him? ???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what could i say?! so i said i would, and it was excruciatingly embarrassing! (He also was extremely polite lol) He said its v important to the company to provide good customer service, and thanks for letting him know, but i was ready to die LOL. Ah well, hopefully someone is having a better day in work today cos i told her manager how good she is :D |

You know what sucks? Is when u find yourself mentioned on a blog. Mentioned and MISQUOTED. Misquoted to sound extremely pathetic, so that the posters point of view in an argument would sound better. Especially when you are close to the poster, and had advertised said blog (the poster uses adsense and wants hits on the site). And the DAY u stick it up on fb, u log into it and find yourself misquoted. |

We should trap Anton in his own forum and keep him as the Queenzone pet. Am I the only one who feels slightly sorry for him, I get the feeling he’s a lonely 10 year old Russian school boy with the IQ of a dog. |

The figure 168 is a pun for "on the road to prosperity" in the Chinese Cantonese dialect. It did not work for the News Of The World newspaper which will be closed in its168th year. It became "on the road to posterity" instead. |

I just had an argument with someone about stem cell research. In the course of the conversation he stated that zygotes (early formation embryos) are wasted every day. Any time two people *do it, and any time anyone *does it alone. I spent a long time trying to point out the difference between fertilized and un-fertilized eggs... only to be told, well so do you think you kill a chicken every time you eat an egg? And i said -- exactly my point, you DON'T because the egg is unfertilized (i eat eggs raised by a family member, they have no rooster). He laughed. And laughed. Because... 'Chickens need roosters to lay eggs, therefore, it is embryonic chicken.' I spent an extremely frustrating half hour explaining how males and females work. He still doesn't believe that females have eggs and that these are different from embryos. I am frustrated. Its one thing to have an argument, but he was really aggressive in his arguments, put me down, tried to humiliate me and said that i 'cant possibly understand' and other stuff. And he doesn't know that a chicken does not need a rooster to lay an egg. |
