Heard this version on you tube link its brilliant how come it never got put on Made in Heaven its much better than a lot of the stuff on there. I think it was recorded in Fred's MB sessions but is a lot rockier than the dance rubbish that dominated his solo album.
This the so-called Alternative Version which was officially released on the Freddie Mercury Solo Collection boxed set. It's actually the original recording, with Brian May on guitar. After this take, Freddie asked the session guitarist to copy Brian's guitar track note for note, because he didn't want any Queen members appearing on his solo album. Ironically, he didn't end up including it on the actual Mr. Bad Guy album, instead issuing the re-recorded version as the B-Side to the "Made In Heaven" single.
Just resurrecting this old thread, as despite a search I'm still struggling to get definitive confirmation about versions of 'She Blows Hot & Cold'.
As far as I'm aware there are FOUR released versions:
1) 'Genuine' Single B-Side Version (approx 3.39 in length), from the 'Made In Heaven' 7" and Pic Disc (& on the 'Messenger of the Gods' singles set). This does NOT feature Brian on guitar. This features some studio chatter at the start and then a drumstick count in before Freddie comes in on vocals. It has a faded ending.
2) B Side Extended Version (approx. 5:51) from the 'Made In Heaven' 12" & Freddie Solo Collection: This does NOT feature Brian, and is an alternative and extended mix of the 7" version.
3) Alternative Version (approx 4.37) exclusive to the Freddie Solo Collection. This DOES feature Brian. This features NO studio chatter at the start, but still has the count in, and ends abruptly in the middle of a guitar solo.
4) Purported Single B-Side Version from the Freddie Solo Collection (approx. 3:27). Whilst this states it is the "B Side" version, it actually differs slightly because it has both the studio chatter & the count in at the start edited off (for what reason, God only knows) and comes in immediately with Freddie, and so is a unique standalone version. Other than this, it is the same as the 'genuine' B side original release, and does NOT feature Brian.
If anyone can provide confirmation of (or put me right on) the above I'd be very grateful.
Thanks!

Yes, your info is consistent with the versions I have. My original 7" version is 3:34 but it may be a result of irregular playback speed from my old LP player. I do have a 3:38 version with obvious click removal though.
Funny how both this and Stop All The Fighting were tracks that should have easily made it to the album, should Freddie have preferred to give it a different tone.
This is my favorite song. I like to listen to it again and again. Reading from https://allessayvikings.com/essayoneday-review/ I realize that this site is full of information about this artist who have the best songs that I like to listen.
