I would save the spelling bee ...
If I had to, I'd prefer to save any animal whose species was being interfered with by humans.
If they're in their own habitat that we aren't messing with and they're going extinct, then nature should simply take its course. About 99% of every species that has ever existed is now extinct, most of which existed before our race. It's not our job to interfere with this. We should instead be making changes to our actions that effect the environment, and then we won't have to save any animals because the process of natural selection takes place all on its own.
And let's not forget that we're part of the animal kingdom too, so we aren't exempt from this process. There's a reason why the only species that had any fatalities from the last tsunami was humans. Everything else had the sixth sense and found their way to higher elevation and survived. Relief efforts from the oil spill in the gulf kept getting backlogged by heavy weather, and it wasn't even hurricane season. And now we have severe flooding in Pakistan, where the average family has around ten kids. Mother nature knows what she's doing. Our existence as a species is finite as well. So maybe the answer to the question is - we should be busy trying to save ourselves.
The sheep for the wool and meat.
It is the only meat that people of all religions can eat. Hindus and Buddhists do not take beef and Muslims do not take pork. I thought of the chicken but it is a fowl and not an animal.
Whales - because they are the living proof that being extreme intelligent doesn't mean you have to destroy things.
I probably wouldn't save any of the Great Apes. If it could produce something like us once, it could happen again.
