On August 22, next Sunday, will be launch the book "Queen Magic Works," by Marcelo Facundo Severo, who traces the biography of the band in a different way: through his music production.
In the book, published by Mandacaru, the author goes through each track of each Queen album - even the "Made in Heaven" - telling how each song came about, what was the inspiration, who played what and, show what models of instruments were used. For all this, we can say that "Queen Magic Works" is a real bible for fans of the British band.
"I sent the book to Brian May, who sent me an email saying he liked the work, and that the level of research I have done very much resembles what he did in his PHD thesis," said Severo.
The book launch event will be on August 22 in Little Darling Bar - located at Av Irai, 229, Moema, in São Paulo - from 18h. In addition to an autograph session with the author, will be the presentation of the cover band Rockin Magic, whose guitarist is Marcelo Severo.
The ticket for the event costs R$15 and can be purchased at the time. For reservations and more information, visit the Little Darling web page (link or call (11) 5542-9912 or (11) 5096-4035.
The next Thursday, August 19, starting midnight, the Press blog Rocker (link will inaugurate its podcast, which will be dedicated to Queen and will involve the book's author, speaking more about his work, and Queen music, of course.

I'm disappointed! I'm reading "Brazilian launches Queen biography"
The book is called Queen Magic Works by Marcelo Facundo Severo. So I click on the link and up comes a page with--Servor Error. In bright RED it says 403 Access Denied. Then next line in black-- You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
What is up with this?. One would think if you're on the Queenzone site that you have access .
I'd like to find out if the book is in English first of all and all the details etc and probably order a copy.
Has anyone else had this experience? Maybe it is available on amazon.com , I'll check that out.
Just copy and paste the links in your browser for now. Something even hinkier than usual going on with links in this thread. None of my usual tricks to get them to work are working at the moment.
Yes, you won't be able to click them directly. Use the copy and paste commands on your computer to copy them from here directly into your internet browser. Let me know if you need more explanation.
Oh boy!! Copy and paste. I'm so not there yet.
I guess the question about it being in English is answered by the fact that it was sent to Brian. I don't think he's too multilingual. I could be wrong of course.
English and French and that's it for me.

Thank you tcc.
Well I'm good for every fourth word!
I can put my Italian friend to work, he's pretty good with Spanish.
Seriously,do you think a translation is in the works ? My brain hurts after 5 lines.
Hebrew is my distant 3rd language and this is so not Hebrew.
Thank you for getting me through to the actual book though.
The info pages are probably in Portuguese. And I would think the book has to be in English because the title on the book jacket is in English. A guy who wants to sell books really shouldn't make it this hard to buy them.
Thank you for that last link GrateFul fan.
I have just finished listening to/seeing the You Tube performance.
Is it just me being hypercritical?? or would you have put this out there for the world to hear/see?
The sound is tinny. The key questionable at times. It is taking about 4 shared voices to TRY and hit the notes that Freddie achieved so effortlessly. The word "tremors" is substituted for the word "shivers".
There was talking and coughing going on throughout.
Somehow an entire orchestra could not achieve a sound even close to that unmistakable "Queen" sound. I guess that is what makes Queen such an incredible and distinctive force in music.
Well, I'm from Brazil and I want to see if worth buying this book ...
Does anyone by chance ever read ???
It's one of these books uninformative, with absurd stories and telling lies
about the Queen , OR is a book with good content and interesting??
Who ever knows, please give your opinion! Ok?
Don't apologise for your English at all Guitar May. You're doing just fine. The main thing is you are trying!
You don't say where you live in Brazil. Is there any way you could contact bookstores by phone or on-line to find out the closest place to you that carries it? That way you could go and check the book out for yourself. I'm sure you could decide pretty quickly if it had the kind of commentary you are looking for or not.
The author says Brian May liked it but I think that was looking at technical aspects. If it's full of those things it may not suit your purposes. You've really got to see a copy,
