Been adding my two pence to various topics......just curious how many other artists all of us adjust the song listings to.
Some.......we keep two or three and delete the rest.........and have what we like added to a 'best of'.
REM's 'Automatic For The People' and '....Fidelity' have 2-4 songs deleted on my versions. .
The Beatles................I understand the 45 bit of not being included on an LP..........but, after time....................
The Beatles 'For Sale' ............I have six deleted and three non LP tracks added (Leave My Kitten Alone is an added track, ...sadly....never released until the Anthology series)
Rubber Soul and Revolver......the single releases add so much to the body of work. Certain songs (Act Naturally really comes to mind).....can be tossed in the scrap heap.
Sgt Pepper.....listen to it with Strawberry Fields/Pennylane' as the start of side two (Within You, Without You deleted). Not their fault, as Capitol insisted on something new, and the old bit of not including singles on the LP comes in to play, but.....just think how much better the best album ever would have been.
The White Album.....whenever I make a copy for friends, a third disk is included: 'Revolution' for 'Revolution 1' and 'Hey Jude' for 'Revolution 9'. And they thank me for it.
Anyone else do the same?
Queen wasn't the only band that missed out on what could have been far superior releases.
I read the alternate listings here on the Qzone for The Miracle, GH 3 etc...........it's almost as if this should have a separate discussion page....as they always crop up.
Pity the John Stuart comments and history are not on a completely different section, as the old search does not appear to work (hint hint)
