EMI Music and Queen continue with the re-release of the entire Queen studio album catalogue on long playing heavy-weight vinyl albums with the next set out on August 30th, 2010.
The album packaging will include every detail of the original releases in their original 12” format. Bonus posters, extra pictures, and all the unique content of the original albums will be faithfully reproduced.
This group of releases will consist of three classic Queen albums: The Game (1980), Hot Space (1982) and Queen’s very last studio album featuring Freddie Mercury, Made in Heaven (1995).
In a deliberate move, the albums have not been re-released chronologically but instead sequenced over the twenty-two year period of release allowing buyers wider choice with each new batch of releases.
The first set of releases were the classic Queen albums Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera and A Day At the Races.
The second set were, the very first album Queen, along with News Of The World, Flash Gordon, A Kind of Magic and Innuendo.
The final set – Jazz, The Works and The Miracle – will be released later in the year.

The next step will be re-issuing again the 15 studio albums next year with Universal.
It's been confirmed yesterday at the QOL forum, after Rhys Thomas wrote on his Facebook he was writing new sleeve notes for every studio album to be released next year on the 40th Anniversary.
Now the big discussion has already started: are they doing it well this time? will the fans deserve some attention? We all mean: will we have at last some kind of expanded editions with bonus content ?
Hi All,
I stopped buying the vinyl re-issues, simply because the sleeves were getting damaged in transit (you know, where the disc slips out of the inner bag and puts a tear in the edge of the outer sleeve). After getting replacements for the first few sets, the second phase of vinyls arrived with exactly the same problem and I got fed up with all the hassle of getting them exchanged. After all, I had viewed them as collectable items and they should have at least arrived in mint condition. I’ve noticed this with a few of the vinyl re-issues I’ve bought (the latest being a signed Slash LP which is again ruined by a tear in the outer cover). Why don’t the suppliers ship the inner bag/disc and outer sleeve separately in the same package like some of the old school record dealers? This gets rid of the problem.
I even e-mailed Brian about it and received a very prompt reply saying that he would pass my message on to “somebody who can do something about it”. I’m not sure if anything was done as I didn’t purchase any subsequent releases.
Has anyone else encountered the same issue?
Cheers,
Keith.
When the third batch of vinyl was announced I pre-ordered it. Months before releasedate.
Then, near the release date, my order was cancelled by the seller because the items were cancelled.
Some time ago, when the third and final batch was announced, skipping the original plan of 4 batches of vinyl but getting the remaining discs in one set, I pre-ordered it again.
And just today this order has been cancelled by the selling company again, because the items were cancelled.
Has this anything to do with plans with Universal? Very strange.
EDIT: I just received a message explaining that no longer 6 albums are released in one batch, but just three, as originally planned. (and mentioned on Queen and Brian's site)
