Dream Theater’s James LaBrie will release his next solo album "Static Impulse" in late September 2010.
James LaBrie: “Hi everyone. The release of Static Impulse is one that the whole band is psyched about. This is modern
Metal and as heavy and relevant as any other band out there going in a similar musical direction. There are riffs that will blow your head off and melodies both musically and vocally that are hypnotic. Get in the driver’s seat and let the ears bleed. Enjoy and see you out there with a tour to follow up and support this release.”
Guillory, co-writer of the album, comments: “One year and two months in the making and we're finally done. I'm really pleased with the way this record came out. James sounds fantastic, as well as the rest of the guys. Without a doubt, it's our heaviest record thus far yet at the same time, it's also our most melodic. I can't wait for everyone to hear it.”
In addition to Dream Theater's numerous studio and live releases, LaBrie has also appeared on releases by Fates Warning, Redemption, Trent Gardner's Explorer's Club, Leonardo The Absolute Man, Frameshift, Ayreon's The Human Equation, as well as tribute albums to Rush, Emerson Lake & Palmer and Queen.
James LaBrie performed the Queen classic "Tenement Funster/Flick of the Wrist/Lily of the Valley" on Dream Theater latest album "Black Clouds & Silver Linings". Check it out on youtube. link
On the 27th of July (that's a Tuesday) AOL will be streaming one of the tunes of Static Impulse.
I had not read about this, so thanks for the update.
Small correction: the Queen medley appears on one of the two bonus disks of 'Black Clouds', and not on the album proper. The medley is available on iTunes for 99 cents.
Overrated by whom? You?
What accolades have Dream Theater and/or James Labrie received that you felt were undeserved?
Or are you just spewing crap again?
You need to work on your comedic skills if you think labeling a singer outside of the mainstream as "over-rated" is funny. It wasn't. This isn't a place to spew hate on James LaBrie. If you have something constructive to add, then great. Otherwise you're wasting webspace and everyone's time. This is not your playground.
And why don't you discuss your Treasure Moment stuff in private? Ever heard of email?
Stephan - what do you consider to be LaBrie's best work outside of Dream Theater? I've heard all the other guys' work - Transatlantic, Platypus, etc. I haven't heard too much of LaBrie's, so I'm curious of your two cents, which I've always valued.
thats not really making any sense, to say "this thread is about james labrie" in that case positive and negative people could post in it .... unless its actually just a positive thread in which case you are too right to say i have to start one to say something negative
but its just too sad that your so uptight and cry so easily about this stuff OH NO someone said to you that the man is overrated it is the breakdown of modern mankind ....... sounds to be like someone never left the 'playgrounds'...
Maybe you should go to a forum that focuses on negativity if that's your thing. Or start a blog - how about link ? I'm actually being serious. Advertise it in the right places, and you'll be better received by people who are like-minded to you. You're obviously not getting anywhere here, because few people here enjoy or can relate to your attitude of hating just about everything and everyone.
but thats just too one sided a view, i have said plenty of things that i like on this forum and you convenintly forget this just to make a point ... thats ok many people do this it is called "hyperbole" but dont be expected to be taken serious .
I'll go back to a previous comment about 'overrated'. Not sure if the poster is commenting on the band or the Queen medley cover.
Personally....I'd have enjoyed Portnoy doing TF, and I miss the BV's on 'Lily'.....but for my favorite existing band covering my favorite all-time band, it was done with great care, and done well.
Dream Theater over-rated?? This guy really is a retard!! Have you seen them live? No I guess not. Possibly THE most talented bunch of musicians on the planet now & for the last 20 years. Which bands does Andreas like just out of curiosity? This guy just invites insults.
