In no particular order, and I had to do Bat Out of Hell, Meat Loaf Night Moves, Bob Seger Refugee, Tom Petty Take it Easy, The Eagles Blinded by the Light, Manfred Mann cover (Bruce Sprigsteen orig) Angie, The Rolling Stones Go Your Own Way, Fleetwood Mac Born to Run, Bruce Springsteen Runnin' on Empty, Jackson Browne Sweet Home Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd Tiny Dancer, Elton John Levon, Elton John Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, Elton John Feels Like Rain, John Hiatt More Than a Feeling, Boston Come Sail Away, Styx All Right Now, Free Don't Let Me Down, The Beatles Baba O'Reilly, The Who Pinball Wizard, The Who Gettin' in Tune, The Who Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Elton John In some ways a pretty predicatable straight up classic rock mix I guess, but those are my essentials - the ones I can't imagine my personal music history without. The Styx and the Boston in particular are a little worn out due to excessive radio play, but they remain great songs. |

I'm bored. Have a list with explanations. 1. Stars - peformed by Philip Quast. Les Miserables. I for some reason made it my ambition in life to see Philip Quast sing this live. I knew it would probably never happen because he said he was not going to go back to Les Mis again, but rather unfortunately for me, he sang it at an event I was at at The Royal Albert Hall recently. Therefore, my only goal in life has been reached and now I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. Anyway, that one is here because the song never fails to move me and Quast's voice is the best ever. 2. Confrontation - performed by Antony Warlow. Jekyll and Hyde The Musical This is here because I love it and it's all dramatic and if you try and sing it you sound like a maniac. 3. These Are The Days Of Our Lives - Queen Yeah.. it's by this little band called Queen, you've probably not heard of them. 4. The Safety Dance - Men Without Hats Well, why not? 5. Gethsemane - performed by Glenn Carter. Jesus Christ Superstar. So so wrong, but I can't help it. Glenn Carter is quite obviously not the best Jesus' (Jesi?) of all time but I kind of love him and want his babies and he makes me go all weak at the knees and I have yet to work out why. I don't think he is a particularly handsome man and yet I LOVE HIM. Go figure. 6. Lily's Eyes - Antony Warlow and Philip Quast from the musical version of The Secret Garden I see a pattern forming here... Anyway, pretty song, great voices. 7. Good Morning Starshine - Hair I like it. 8. Forsaken - Daggers They are band that nobody has heard of and they disbanded a couple of years ago but me and a group of friends used to go to all their gigs and were their only fans there half the time. They were great. The lead singer and guitarest are now signed and are using some of the bands songs under the name HURTS I think. It's most odd. Apparently they're going to get "really big". Strange. 9. Look Down/The Robbery - Les Miserables Possibly my favourite scene in the whole musical. 10. Absolute Beginners - David Bowie I love Bowie, and this song I've always loved in particular. I can listen to it on repeat over and over. |
