Brian confirmed more Queen work this year. If he were to release a boxset of some sort. Perhaps a re-release to all Queens studio albums. What b-sides, demos, and singles would you put on the newly remastered {one too many times} albums?
Well I want a proper remaster of Innuendo.
All 4 disc releases of all albums - CD 1 a remaster of the album, CD 2 - bonus remixes + demos + alternate takes + BBC Sessions etc., DVD 1 - a DVD containing all video clips for the album + brand new videos, with sound track in 2.0 LPCM 96kHz and 5.1 DTS 96kHz, DVD 2 - either a complete concert, or collection of songs from different concerts, or a making-of-album documentary, + a book including information about the album, all promo photos, concert photos, handwritten lyrics etc...
Your kind of on the right lines there Pitters, but we need a full disc of demos on their own, not sharing that disc with B sides & BBC sessions.
Concert releases should be a different box-set altogether - either that or the band should be prepared to do up to 6 disc sets of albums!
I agree with the comment regarding the Innuendo album, the instruments sound so quiet and distant.
They couldn't definitely sharpen up the sound, like the production on queen live at montreal.
I would like all the albums to be remastered with todays technology although this might be impossible with the earlier albums, imagine something like Brighton Rock given a makeover that would sound really fresh.
QUEEN II SPECIAL EDITION:
-All the original album tracks + See What a Fool I've Been (not remastered or remixed. ORIGINAL.)
-Making of Queen II (DVD): featuring Roger and Brian as well as all the possible archive footage related to this+ lots of live material and demo takes.
be nice to see a 'beatle's anthology' type realease. instead of the same ol remixed 'most popular' songs. I agree it would be really good to see queen II looked into!!
i can't see a hope in hell of this ever happening....and for one reason alone:-
the beatles had George Martin and Paul McCartney, who both wanted this to happen.
queen have no-one.
martin was with the beatles right thru....so he had a versted interest and love for getting the outtake/demo stuff restored and released. Macca also wanted it out...more money and a huge fanbase interest.
queen have several producers...none particularly interested in doing the whole job, and Brian really couldn't give a rat's ass about digging thru the old stuff...he wants to make new stuff (albeit not great new stuff)
queen reissues...with 2nd CD oiuttakes and demos - or a 3 double CD anthology set will never see the light of day while my ass points down
What would you add to a possible Queen album re-release?
a second mortgage? Because that will be what we need to have if we're going to sit thru more re-releases.
Personally, i'd LOVE to see a proper release made of that song "PROPERTY OF QUEEN PRODUCTIONS, PROPERTY OF QUEEN PRODUCTIONS. PROPERTY OF QUEEN PRODUCTIONS"
Maybe 4 discs of remixes by:
1) Dr Dre.
2) Neyo
3) Kanye West
4) Fergie
5) Dj Lethal
6) Akon
7) Will.I.am
I think they could add a LOT of flavor to the man's skills..
i'm convinced there really ARE no outtakes from the QUEEN II sessions...
tape was expensive then and i'm sure the production company at Trident (weren't I and II recorded there?) responded in due by reusing previously used reels.
Just a thought.
i'm certain SEE WHAT A FOOL I'VE BEEN has only survived because it was released as a B-Side.
However there weren't any others..
but who knows... maybe the early demo of SHEER HEART ATTACK EXISTS.
I can dream!! maybe now brian and roger are aproaching there 'retirement' years they'll stop messing about with new rubbish and guest appearences with z list celebs and give us what we want! Queen have done some really great album tracks that most non fans have never heard (because most never buy the origianal albums) so I suppose an album with ballads like 'queen rocks'?
