Hi there. I'm thinking about buying this book and I would like to know the following from people who have got it:
What's Inside it
Best Bits
Is it recommended
Where is the best place to buy it
I picked up a copy at Barnes and Noble in the US. Great write-ups by the author and contributors. Images from Queenmuseum.com are very nice as well. Well worth it.
There are many errors in the book. The reviews of the albums tend to vary depending on who is doing the reviews (some give higher grades than the LP is deserving).
As for pictures and extras.........well worth it....and then some. Very enjoyable.
I agree with Goodco, there ARE many errors in the book! For example, when they display the Christmas edition of the fan club magazine from 1980 and it states on the magazine that it's from 1980 and the caption next to it say's it's from 1983, someone clearly has bad eyesight. In the NOTW section when talking about the tour they claim it was Roger who put his hand through the window during a party requiring 18 stitches when in Queenlore it was John Deacon. Some of the photos are not correctly dated etc. On the up-side of this book there are some very nice photos, stories from Ratty, Billy Squier, Mack and Mick Rock. All credible contributions with other writings from fellow musicians like Tommy Lee and Slash. Yeah, I say get it despite the errors. I usually read it in the bathroom. Makes it a more enjoyable experience.
