I said this in another post ... Brian, Roger, Spike, Jamie, and Danny should do a theater tour playing the Queen songs that Brian and Roger sang and some of the songs that they wrote, but Freddie sang. |

I think the point of doing theatres rather than arenas is so that there is a more intimate feel to the gigs, which lends itself to a more relaxed atmosphere in which to play the non hits albums tracks, rather than the 'sheds' which are more suited to the 'greatest hits' tours |

Apparently they also did I'm in Love With My Car, Long Away, and Sleeping on the Sidewalk. If only they'd take this show on the road and do the few-thousand seaters. Clearly they enjoy playing the obscure stuff. |
Vali 14.05.2010 09:06 |
could this dream come true ? can you imagine that ? a theatre gig with the above mentioned tracks and more "rarities" such as: Modern Times Rock'n Roll Some Day One Day She Makes Me Good Company Drowse Fight From the Inside Leaving Home Ain't Easy Fun It .... And many other rare Brian/Roger compositions that Freddie sang .... |

Clearly they enjoy playing the obscure stuff. The really should do that! The die-hards would be thrilled, the band would enjoy it and anyone that's interested would get to know another side of Queen. Those songs are just as much Queen songs as the ones sung by Freddie. Actually, songs like Tenement Funster and Sleeping on the sidewalk and Long away are among my very favourites! It has to be said: there's nothing like seeing Brian and Rog together. They start to play and it's Queen. Ok, you miss the other two but still, a part of Queen is better than no Queen. I wish there was a nice audience recording of that set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

What was the date of this gig? |
YourValentine 14.05.2010 11:25 |
It was May 11th. Taken from brianmay.com (it's not all foxes over there :-) I'm In Love With My Car - (Brian and Roger) Long Away- (Brian and Roger) Sleepin' on the Sidewalk - (Brian and Roger) Tenement Funster - (Brian and Roger) Way Down - (Brian only) In Your Shoes - (Rufus Taylor drums, Roger Taylor backup vocals and tambourine) |
PrincessofTaylor 14.05.2010 11:27 |
I would pay any amount of money and travel anywhere in the world to see a show where Roger performed Drowse. Seriously. |
jamster1111 14.05.2010 11:58 |
Wow they should come to the US and have a tour or short tour performing this stuff...it could raise money to save the foxes |
PrincessofTaylor 14.05.2010 12:28 |
I bet if someone tried to sell it to Brian that way, he'd be game! |

PrincessofTaylor 14.05.2010 14:27 |
Hahaha yeah I thought of that after I typed it. I'm just too clever for my own good! :) |
Levon Thyme 14.05.2010 15:25 |
I would travel the thousand of miles required and go to several shows if they toured like that. Tenement Funster is one of those songs that more music fans who don't really know Queen should hear..they'd appreciate Queen more. Same with Long Away. Sleeping on the Sidewalk, live? Wow! |

They wouldn't be able to fill arenas here (Queen + Paul Rodgers didn't fill the arena I saw them at). The theater tour I mentioned would contain mostly obscure Queen songs, so the general public wouldn't know them. |

Thanks for posting this. Roger's voice sounds awesome. It's great to see him drumming and singing, and shows what benefit the rehearsals ad tours with Paul Rodgers have done to invigorate and sharpen him. I remember in The Cross and solo days he didn't play and sing at the same time for anything substantial cos he said it was too hard work now ( and that was 15 years ago!!) |

This is realllllly awesome! Nice to see those Foo Fighters guys getting Bri and Rog on stage for stuff like this. I guess they are the only musicians that can get them to do this sort of thing. Just do a couple of these gigs through europe PLEASE! and include all of those Bri and Rog tracks as mentioned before. It will Rock.. (ok u can use the money for those foxes if that makes u do it) |
Makka 16.05.2010 21:19 |
So much prefer the rougher sound of Roger's voice on songs like this than his solo recorded work. |

I'm sure you'd purchase the ticket anyway in case they'd confirm the setlist including these two tracks !! I certainly would, even if they'd say they'd be starting such shows with an experimental song consisting of Taylor Hawkins hitting the drums and Rog+Bri singing "kaka kaka kaka" during 4 minutes :D |

Why they don't invite us for these gigs... awesome. |
