Freddie was a racist. Example; One Vision was written by Roger Taylor. Originally, the song was about Martin Luther King, but Freddie changed the words. But, to honor Martin Luther King, Freddie sang "Fried Chicken" at the end of the song. He didn't sing it because "Jim served it for dinner" while they were recording the song. He sang it because the song was originally about Martin Luther King, and Martin Luther King was black. And everyone knows black people like fried chicken. |
kdj2hot 06.05.2010 13:39 |
Freddie was very insensitive and probably didnt understand the magnitude of the word. Take his use of it in march of the black queen, that line always makes me cringe. About One vision i always thought that about the fried chicken line too, more so to him being insensitive like brian contributed in regards to him playing the mr badguy sessions to him with a sound a like guitarist. my brothrer isnt even a fan and said the fried chicken was racist |
Makka 07.05.2010 00:42 |
I wonder if Elvis Costello still says 'Last white n***a' in Olivers Army when he performs it these days? |

Freddie didn't know the magnitude of the word nigga?....and you do?....If freddie was racist than all four members are also....you're obviously a Jealous little boy. go and play you're roger and brian solo albums that no one cares about. |
jamster1111 07.05.2010 08:33 |
Oh my god. The point of this was to see what people would say. I expected to hear stuff like "Of course he didn't say it, that i just a joke". So yeah, of course he didn;t say it!!!! If you listen closely you can hear him say the B in bigger |
mike hunt 07.05.2010 08:39 |
Freddie was indian, not the white devil, lol. Indians been through Just as much shit in history that black people have. So if you're gonna cry a river for black people you should do the same for the poor indians who been through a buck load of shit. They don't teach that in white boy schools.....white people watch too many John wayne movies. |
catqueen 07.05.2010 14:37 |
I rofl-ed when i read the comment abt fried chicken being racist, then i read a second comment abt it which didnt seem to think it was a joke!! i like fried chicken and im white... i can hardly believe that the fried chicken reference has racist overtones!!! I mean srsly!!! And if u look at the video behind the scenes (i know it was orchestrated and unnatural!) but he sings a lot of different words that rhyme, like he talks abt john deacon, etc... i kind of assumed that the fried chicken was a joke that they kept of because of this, and to lighten the song. And isnt fried chicken more a southern usa thing anyway? Queen lived in england, where fried chicken isnt a big thing. |
mike hunt 07.05.2010 14:48 |
I love fried chicken myself....I'm white....and if it was racist (which it wasn't) then all four members should be called racist, not Just freddie. If the others were uneasy about the word "fried chicken" then the others should have said something. Freddie wasn't the leader of the band, remember that?....he's just 1/4 of the band. Obviously the guy has issues with freddie, looking at every lryic the man writes. Freddie was fucking evil!...lol. where's his white hood, lol. fucking people here are a joke!...Never mind me, i'm a angry motherfucker these days. especially dealing with assholes. |

to me theres no surprises to this topic freddie does in fact say *N* word to this song, and it is documented that he was a bit ... in the way of prejudices shall we say wasn't the most brightly minded towards blacks. it has something to do with his upbringing but in the end he was totally disrespectful of them and basically hated them all |

tcc wrote: cruder wrote: its BIGGER listen carefully I agree with you. He sang the word "bigger". both wrong & both retarded 'listen carefully' is no match to closer waveform analysis .... besides to any fact it's just a long known fact (an "open secret" because in the business anyone knows it) that freddie would drop N bomb in that song he did it specific because of the venue they were in and the situation, he thought he could get away to it - and he did obviously if you are fooled - it was his way of laughing at all of the ones who said "don't play in this place or you are racist", so he flaunts it N. not B it is an N, and you should all deal to it . |
caslon 11.05.2010 09:54 |
Are you guys totally joking? Of course he was NOT RACIST! And he is saying BIGGER, not the "N" word here. One of his all time FAVORITE singers was Aretha Franklin for goodness sake!!!! As far as being homphobic...If he was...then why would he have suggested the band name QUEEN? He sported the "gay clone moustache" look for years and years. Much to the dismay of fan here in the US because they identified....and still do for that matter....that "look" with being gay. I personally think he looked great. And to address the fact that he wasn't officially out of the closet...it was the 80's so there was much more discrimination than there is now. Well I've loved a million women In a belladonic haze And I ate a million dinners Brought to me on silver trays Give me ev'rything I need To feed my body and my soul And I'll grow a little bigger Maybe that can be my goal I was told a million times Of all the people in my way How I had to keep on trying And get better ev'ry day But if I crossed a million rivers And I rode a million miles Then I'd still be where I started Same as when I started |

Also, Freddie was a big fan of Jimi Hendrix. Plus one of Freddie's BEST FRIENDS was PETER STRAKER, an black man! |

caslon wrote: Also, Freddie was a big fan of Jimi Hendrix. Plus one of Freddie's BEST FRIENDS was PETER STRAKER, an black man! i think you dont know the scenario you are discussing!!!!! freddie did not use that N word to be in racist approval ... he did it to mock the many anti-Sun City complainers. it is well known and a FACT he dropped the word in there to he assumed that it would get at least one of them upright but recordings of the show being so scarce it has passed from consciensce but I assure you he had reasons one of them not being a real racist one.... freddie was a legend |
kdj2hot 12.05.2010 10:02 |
My post pretty much hit the nail on the head. Why is it so hard to believe, let me break this down in a way that's simple. As previously stated, nigger was in the original lyric sheet, I don't know if that's true or not but I'll go with it. Two, he used nigger in another song "march of the black queen" so that ends all discussions about being shocked that the word came out of his mouth. Get over it, it was in his vocab and he showed he would use it in song. Now was he racist or just ignorant, I say insensitive (a kinder word for ignorant) right or wrong he probably didn't understand how words alone could hurt so much and knew in his heart he didn't hate so why would it matter what he said if he knew that. Take his version que sera sera (fuck off and die you fag). That's an insight on his sense of humor that you can apply to this situation. Instead of being jealous of me and branding me a know it all maybe some of you should open your minds and listen and if it doesn't logically work it doesn't logically work. |
andreas_mercury 12.05.2010 13:54 |
exactly you are right! |
flashbolton 12.05.2010 15:15 |
I don't think Freddie was racist. To begin with, if he was a rascist, then why play concerts in Africa, Latin America, Asia, etc.? .. Saying ¨fried chicken¨ at the end of One Vision was just a joke... it rhymes, and that's all.... just a damn joke. If you don't get it, get a fucking life. You know, in an interview they said they added that line because that's what they were gonna have for dinner that night they were recording.... Yeah, maybe they were lying.....but I dont think so. |
andreas_mercury 13.05.2010 11:58 |
he just say nigger he is not racist ...... how is that hard to understand |
Wiley 13.05.2010 15:32 |
I always thought the "Fried chicken" line had to do with the "one flesh, one bone" lyrics in One Vision and they kept it because they thought it was funny. |
kdj2hot 13.05.2010 16:46 |
FYI, at sun city he clearly said bigger... The b pronounciation is clear. |

Baby was a black sheep. Baby was a whore. Baby got big and baby get bigger. Baby get something. Baby get more. Baby, baby, baby was a rock-and-roll nigger. Oh, look around you, all around you, riding on a copper wave. Do you like the world around you? Are you ready to behave? Outside of society, they're waitin' for me. Outside of society, that's where I want to be. Baby was a black sheep. Baby was a whore. You know she got big. Well, she's gonna get bigger. Baby got a hand; got a finger on the trigger. Baby, baby, baby is a rock-and-roll nigger. |
pittrek 17.05.2010 02:30 |
