Info:
Brian May + band
November 26, 1998
Newcastle Workers Cooperative Club,
Newcastle, Australia
Tracklist:
Rare soundcheck recording from one of the last shows of the Another World tour. Includes various bits and pieces, a.o. Bohemian Rhapsody, Another World and China Belle. Also lots of talking, jamming, guitar noises, drum fills and more. Probably something you'll listen to once and then never again ;)
Total length is approx. 40 minutes.
Lineage:
Unknown. Got this in a trade with another Dutch collector in 2001/2002 I think. As far as I know it's lossless, though again I didn't check as I don't care and don't know how to do it. If you don't want stuff which is 100% sure lossless, go somewhere else :)
Luke - when I saw this, I thought it was your recording, but from your comment above it sounds like this wasn't the case. Does anyone have a complete recording of this show?
Out of all the concerts I've ever been to (well over 100, at least), this show would have to be my FAVOURITE ever. I probably had the best spot in the venue - at the left corner of Brian's "catwalk" stage (only about 3 x 3 metres), and there were some idiots on the opposite side of the catwalk who kept trying to grab Brain earlier in the show when he was on the stage. Fortunately for me, this meant that for virtually every solo during the show he didn't go anywhere near them - instead he came the spot directly in front of me! Last Horizon was a religious experience!!! After the show, I had a bloke come up to me and say "if I had a camera and could only take 1 photo all night, it would have been of your face during Brian's solo!".
My download has finished, and track 1 gave me a laugh. That's audio from us (me, Cathy, Cameron & Luke) meeting Brian at the rear entrance to the venue. What a flashback! I asked Brian to sign several items, and the first of these was a 7" picture sleeve of Queen's First EP, which Brian signed with a silver pen that I smudged as soon as he handed it back to me (you can hear me curse at 2:31) - after this Brian took extra time to sign my remaining items "to David" (he signed a 12" Star Fleet and a 7" Princes Of the Universe).
Spike also stopped to say hi to us. To this day, I am utterly blown away by how polite and genuine the guys we met were.
Surely this is Luke's audio? Or was is Cameron? Your adventures and encounters with roadies and security people on track #2 are amusing!
Thanks for sharing (and recording!) such a unique treasure.

Great story David!
