queen really shines on some of these rare unreleased songs....dog with a bone is one of those songs. alway's loved the freddie and roger duets. They should have done a lot more of that, Especially on hot space. The live version of action this day is an example. It still boggles my mind why they never finished this song and released it, it rocks!...What album session was this from?......another Gem is "we're falling out" This little tune is much better than most of the songs that made the miracle. The later day albums like the miracle and even Innuendo could have been much better with better song choices. Especially the miracle.
"dog" is great. i love it. think this is cos in may ways it sounds more like "old queen, with up to date production"
there's elements in it that remind me of "jazz" "notw" and queen I/II
I enjoy this song too, but then again...where are those voices which moan about Queen re-writing old songs? Man on the prowl - Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Play The Game - It's A Hard Life, Tear It Up - We Will Rock You, Keep Passing The Open Windows - Don't Stop Me Now? While I disagree with those people, I find myself thinking that Dog With A Bone sounds too much like Hangman, a song which I actually never liked.
No song structure, rambling unfinished lyrics, it's sounds like they're winging it.
But if you think it rocks, then rock on... brother. I think its a sorry excuse for an unreleased track.
