I was looking for my old mix of One Vision, but it seems to have vanished, and the only version I could find was from a compilation CD I made several years ago, in which One Vision segued from It's A Beautiful Day. I always thought this would be a great way to start a Queen concert!
IABD hasn't really been altered, other than a couple of delays on the vocal, and, of course, the segue into One Vision. This version of OV is an updated one to the mix I put up here originally. The drums in this sound more natural (to me), and it comes across as something of a 'stripped down' mix (from the GVHII 5.1 audio).
Unfortunately, the CD contains a few pops and clicks, which I haven't
had time to try to clean up. This is from CD wear and tear, and they
weren't in the original mixes!
Anyway, this hasn't been uploaded in this form before, so I guess you could say it's a new mix, of an old mix!
Hope you enjoy it, and please post your comments. :)
Hi Lord,
The transition from IABD to OV works good imho, I do like the sound that you've put at about 2:49sec.
I agree with you that the drums sound more natural this way, and I love the ending you've made (pitched the normal ending up?)
The one thing I actually like the least is the sudden emptyness (no bass) in some parts, but maybe after a few listenings it 'll grow in to me.
Yes, the 'empty' bits seemed a good idea at the time (struggling to find things to do with it!), and I think the second one works better than the first one, as the line is repeated with the 'full' sound, afterwards. leading to the end. Not sure I'd do it like that again, but I don't think it's too awful. :)
I love the segue between the two. It sounds fantastic. I guess that's down to the source being dvd, yeah? You strip the isolated stuff from a 5.1 mix? I don't have that capability.
The thing I didn't like about it was what you do.... The second bit where you pulled the instruments out, near the end. I don't like the repeat with the full band. I'd have left the 'stripped' part in and continued on from there with the full band.
Nice work though, as always. You must do something like this for a living, eh?

Still patiently waiting for more!
Hi micheal,
Here's a really good DVD audio rip program, once installed on your PC, it's free for a 30 day period (but to be honest, after your 30 days are up, just uninstall it & then re install it for a futher 30 days free)
The program has various functions, i.e. you can rip the 5.1 as seperate audio tracks Or if you want , rip the tracks in just stereo or Mono. Just simply put in the 5.1 surround sound DVD and rip away, Must note though, some of the tracks on the GVH 1 & GVH 2 have only 4 tracks, most have 5, & just forget about the sub woofer channel as there is nothing on that channel at all.

Thanks for your comments.
I wouldn't hold your breath, waiting for more. Unfortunately, there
doesn't seem to be the interest here now to make it worthwhile.
