has anyone read that review of A night at the opera?....In the new book from sutcliffe, "history from the crown kings of rock". What does being gay have to do with anything?...can't these people stick to the music for god's sake!....couldn't this sutcliff guy get better people to review Queen albums instead of the stiff's he got.
I bought that piece of crap a few months ago and was disappointed because the editors made obvious mistakes when listing the dates for photographs and quite a bit of info was wrong. The only positive things were the stories by Ratty, Squier, Mick Rock and Mack. At least that info is accurate. I mean, when they show you a photo of a 1980 fanclub magazine and the caption next to it says it's from 1983 there's a problem!
I thought it was a fantastic, fantastic book, arguably the definitive take on Queen, unless you thought everything they did was genius. Then you wouldn't like it.
I took it as sarcasm. The author of that particular article was just trying to be humorous. I thought it was tasteful. By the way, the book is AMAZING. I encourage all Queen fans to read it. Yes, there are a few errors, but it pays tribute in an awesome way. Lots of really interesting stuff, including stories, rare photographs, lots of memorabelia, album by album reviews (including The Cosmos Rocks), and much, much more.

Ithought the book had some nice pictures and interviews from muscians like halford, but those reviews sucked for the most part. the review for jazz was cool though. Why would a fan mention queen and the village people in the same breath? Ignorance is bliss for some these so called fans and critics.
Haven’t read the book since it was not endorsed by official Queen Productions therefore you can quite verify the content or accuracy. Like with any third party commercial product the book has to use some form of sensationalism, be crude or a little derogatory in order to sell. What should never happen is when you try to distort history and facts. Similarly with those independent documentaries some even shown on terrestrial television made hugely incorrect gross accusations, references and comments. Like anything you need to keep an open mind. However Queen Production never did sort to correct or challenge a matter through a libel suit, since they learnt from the previous lesson.
A quality book on the Band has not appeared for some while in recent time. Keeping in view globalisation, improvements in technology and the increase in the market sector it clearly benefited.
Although the pictures look nice, I shall refrain and reserve judgement till a rainy day…
