Listeners of Planet Rock radio voted in the thousands on a poll to create the Top 40 Live Albums. Queen had TWO entries on the list in Live Killers (No.18) and Live at Wembley ’86 (No.26.).
The full top 40 is as follows:
it's not a bad (if predictable) list....i woulda put Rush, Frampton and skynyrd a bit higher up the list....
also note that Kiss Alive II not there, and maybe Dio and (Dio era) sabbath live albums missing too?
A pretty good list. Personally I think that The Who's Live At Leeds is too low, I would have it at number 1, and the Allman Brothers Band's At Fillmore East is also IMO too low.
Thin lizzy's "Live and Dangerous" is the indeed the best live album I've ever heard, brilliant pure rock. Live Killers is retty cool, Live at Wembley is not that good.
for me the best all times lives albums are
QUEEN LIVE KILLERS
THIN LIZZY LIVE AND DANGEROUS
RUSH DIFFERENT STAGES
KISS ALIVE I
DEEP PURPLE MADE IN JAPAN
IRON MAIDEN LIVE AFTER DEATH
1. Live At The Bowl reat Opener Flash/Hero great intensity in the playing.
2. Live At Montreal Nov 81
3. Live Leiden 86
and maybe Vienna 82, Buenos Aires 81.
Live Killers is the Dog's Turd, Shit Sound and a bit boring imo.
Thin Lizzy and Kiss are not in Queen's class end of period.
