should now be the time for queen or queen+.to call it a day. the remaining members seem to me to be a bit,lets say bored. dont get me wrong,i loved queen+paul.and the 2008 tour to me was a great ,loved the secc gig and my kids first concert went down a treat. but the time has come for brian and roger to say,right enough is enough. 1 final farewell tour of selected venues(say 2 welsh.2english.2irish.2 scotland). and thats the lot.a closure to queen on tour. they could then concentrate on solo things,smaller halls(usher hall etc). as more and more time goes by it seems harder for them to find a singer with which everyone likes.(whether it be a singer from a xfactor thing or a singer from ,a classic rock band?). whichever they pick to some it will never be enough. brian and rog could then concentrate on there solo life,more back to the light or cowboys ,whichever.it,s time to break away from the queen saga. hell for that matter they could even include a female singer for the final tour.annie lenox,or someone with a bit of a voice to carry the slightly heavy songs. as a queen fan for more than 30 years,i feel the time may be just right for this .band /colaboration to come to an end. as queen or queen+..the band will never reach the dizy hights of early queen or even queen.85(live aid) or queen.86(magic tour). or for that matter,early queen.rainbow,hammy,hyde park. the cosmos rocks and return of the champs was verging on good to ok(cosmos better than return). but..maybe just maybe,the time is just right to say...... friends,people,the time is right...1 final tour to say.... goodbye,and thank you very much. if brian or rog read the boards on queenzone they would be thinking.what the hell is this. we pick one of the greatest front men in rock music,and still some are not happy. what do you want,we cant re-incarnate freddie,we are trying our best(to some not good enough). so.time to say goodnight,we hope you enjoyed.and maybe ,just maybe.we will reurn in a solo capasity. |

Queen have been done for a long time now...cosmos rocks was a weak effort, and no one seemed to care anyways....the Time has come to say goodbye. They had their little reunion, and went for it. it didn't work. Time to call it quits. |

I'm agree. For Queen the story is over. Though the solo projects are quite desirable. TCR and AG showed it very clear. A compilation of old songs was more welcome for the public than a new album with a new singer. |

Whilst the new Queen fans were made up that PR enabled Queen to pitch up with a full blown tour. The old brigade were never going to be happy with a new vocalist.It could have been Ronnie James Dio. Coverdale,Gillan,Jagger,Bowie,bloke from Extreme,Pavarotti or even Jesus Christ !!!!! PR was not just any old vocalist ,he was easily in the top ten rock style singers.Unfortunatly the hard core Queen fans would not embrace change, so here we are.Some of the stick given out to PR was way off the mark by the way. I am from the old school, however i was up for Queen & PR as i could see it as a way foward.At the moment there seems no way foward. |

I'd love another tour. What I think would be great, if perhaps impractical, is to perform two or three (or more) days in a limited number of large international cities in medium sized (like not Wembley sized) venues with vocals by Brian, Roger and Freddie by video, along with a different surprise guest vocalist for 3 or 4 tracks in each city. |

Yes, Queen ended when Freddie Mercury died. Queen will never be back. However, May and Taylor (and Deacon) are still around - and, at least, May and Taylor have been recently active. I personally believe they called the band Queen + Paul Rodgers to "sell" the tour and CD, and that's the only reason. Everyone knows that the band on stage was not Queen; rather, it was one-half of Queen with a fantastic front man. One thing I appreciated about Paul Rodgers is that he never pretended to be Freddie Mercury. He apparently recognizes, along most people, that Freddie can never be replaced. I personally enjoyed the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour, because I didn't expect it to be the "real" Queen, with Freddie and John. I expected it to be May, Taylor, and Rodgers, with some great songs to play and sing between them - and they did not disappoint. They were fantastic - not as great as Queen, but then, again, who is? Very few bands can compete with them. What does the future hold? Who knows? I wouldn't mind seeing May, Taylor, and Rodgers again - or May, Taylor, and someone else singing. But who really knows? I will throw this out there: I like Rodger's version of "We Are the Champions" better than Freddie's - and, of course, I think Freddie's version was terrific. (This might be an idea for a thread - compare Queen + Paul Rodgers versions of Songs with Queen (and Bad Company) versions. Hmmmm, quite a possibility. |

(which journey now has become imo) I'd love to see a may/taylor/soto tour though. jeff can do justice to alot of the queen catalouge, BUT: he knows them inside out, and therefore he sings (or tries to sing them) like Freddie. and no one can sing like Freddie. but once the same phrasing etc etc is there, it ends up sounding like Freddie light. that's why I loved the QPR project. Paul did the songs his own way. |
