It seems that we have tapped into a vein of goodwill - with some 'zoners willing to contribute to a live fan-made Queen + Paul Rodgers project. (The first of many I hope - but let's learn to crawl first). I see this division of labour as four key stages. Planning Let's talk about what is out there and first decide on a hypothtical best set/disc scanario. Would it be better to focus on solely one gig - or - a 'best of' (Live Killers) generic type set? If it means that it is just a case of tweaking what V. has already produced - then so be it. Contribution Based on the goodwill of those who attended - live video and/or audio contributions can be forwarded to the production stage/committee. Production After the planning and contributions have been recieved - this can be forwarded to the prodution guys. This could be for video and sound together - or as as seperated ventures. Hi-def could be reduced to DVD quality - or DVD upscaled to HD (only so that the production has an even feel to it) without the bouncing around of quality. That would need to be a production decission. Distribution After everyone has agreed on a finalised product (with or without cover art) distributers could be used as bit-torrent seeders (or whatever). Rather than moanzone, or just the negativity of this place being called to question - why not produce something positive? (I know that it's easy for me to say - as I have nothing to contribute this time around - but if this was successful, who knows what the future could bring?) |

Since my DVDs are quite popular here, I offer my "authoring services" if you want. I will also check if I have any usable photos from Vienna '08 |

Excellent posts! I'm happy to contribute. From my point of view a compliation from all the seldom played live songs could be great. A quick copy past from queenconcerts.com gives an idea of wich songs i'm talking about: 2005 tour: A Little Bit Of Love (first 6 concerts only) Seagull (first 6 concerts only) Another One Bites The Dust (from Birmingham on) Under Pressure (6 of the UK/Irish gigs) Fire And Water (Belfast, Dublin and Tokyo only) Long Away (one verse only - Pesaro, Budapest, Yokohama, Nagoya, Fukuoka) Tavaszi Szél Vizet Áraszt (part only - Budapest) '39 - two verses (first time in Leipzig, then in several more gigs) Danube Waltz (in guitar solo - Vienna) Molly Malone (in guitar solo - Dublin) Sakura (in guitar solo - Tokyo) Sunshine Of Your Love (part - Newcastle) Imagine (Hyde Park only) Bad Company (Aruba, both US dates + 2 Japanese dates) Rock'n'roll Fantasy (Aruba, both US dates) Teo Torriatte (Japanese dates only) I Was Born To Love You (Japanese dates only) 2006 tour: I Want To Break Free (9 concerts only) '39 (4 concerts only) Say It's Not True (Miami only) Red House (Vancouver only) 2008 tour: Shooting Star (Kharkov and first night in Moscow only) One Vision (Kharkov, 2x Moscow and Riga only) Wishing Well (Kharkov and 2x Moscow only) Warboys (second night in Moscow, Riga and Berlin only) Feel Like Makin' Love (approx. half of the gigs) Time To Shine (Antwerp only) The Stealer (Zurich only) Keep Yourself Alive (in the guitar solo, last gigs of the tour) Barcelona (in the guitar solo, Barcelona only) Las Palabras De Amor (Madrid, Santiago De Chile, Buenos Aires) Concierto de Aranjuez (in the guitar solo, Madrid only) Tavaszi Szél Vizet Áraszt (before the acoustic set, Budapest only) Blue Danube Waltz (before the acoustic set, Vienna only) Fog On The Tyne (in the guitar solo, Newcastle only) Voodoo (6 concerts towards the end of the tour) Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner (before the acoustic set, London 07.11.2008 only) Under Pressure (last 4 gigs) |

I can offer my Antwerp '08 'Time To Shine' recording. Shot with a mini dv camcorder (standard def.) some filters and a monopod. |
e-man 25.02.2010 11:28 |
I really like this idea! should it be one for each tour? |
people on streets 25.02.2010 11:31 |
I guess the volume of the total set depends on the material that's being donated. |
bigV 25.02.2010 11:34 |
My recording of "The Blue Danube Waltz" from Vienna is available if anyone wants it. V. |
Vali 25.02.2010 11:53 |
I recorded Las Palabras De Amor in Madrid with my digital photo cam from 2nd row at the end of the catwalk. The audio should be overdubbed with a better recording, as in my video the audience (including me) goes crazy singing the words. But the shot is so close to Brian and Roger that it's really worthy of giving it a chance. |
John S Stuart 25.02.2010 12:19 |
I think the thing is let's do something easy and 'do-able' first. So how about starting with the most recent tour 2008? After a Generic (Live Killers) type collection - we can then move onto 2007? BTW: This is not my thread or idea - anyone can contribute. I am just throwing out some ideas for others to consider. So it is really vital that every 'zoner' has a say - so please contribute to the discussion! |

I'd love to help out, but I don't have any QPR stuff aside from what's been available here. I sincerely hope this is one hell of a project. Give me a ring when a similar project is done for 70s and 80s Queen. |

are some of the official dowloads regarded as "definitive" versions? I have them all (paid for) and I'll easily contribute them to this project unlesss it's considered official material. (grey zone, I admit) I have some The Who dvds from 2002 where they have taken audience video recordings and dubbed them with official audio bootlegs, and the end result is quite something. |

Didn't someone organize a multiple camera shoot at the Meadowlands (Arena) gig in New Jersey in October 2005? |
e-man 26.02.2010 04:45 |
there's a dvd (double) from the meadowlands gig which has obviously been put together by different sources |
e-man 26.02.2010 04:46 |
to get one thing straight; we are talking about a dvd, right? I have some snippets of film from cardiff 08, shot with a small digital camera, so it's probably no good for a dvd format... |
people on streets 26.02.2010 06:25 |
yes a DVD. Therefore footage shot with camcorders (normal def. or even High def. ) would be the best source material. I know for a fact that most footage we're looking for is available in camcorder format. The succes of this project all depends on the fact wether the tapers (you know who you are) are willing to donate 1 or two songs of their footage. I wil offer Time To Shine. Who's next? |
e-man 26.02.2010 07:12 |
fingers crossed, cause this can be an excellent compilation. what about some of the pro shot footage from south america? under pressure, las palabras de amor and voodoo are available in great quality (considering they are bootlegs) |
people on streets 26.02.2010 10:50 |
Sure, why not? As long as the source material has good quality (bitrate wise and soundwise) I don't see no reason to exclude pro footage! |
e-man 26.02.2010 11:04 |
the one from chile looks very good. south america not so good sadly |

This is a great idea. Im sorry I don't have anything to offer other than what was made available here. I would like to suggest including Brian & Roger singing HTF during the 05 European tour when PR was resting his voice on more songs than usual. The Munich (sp) gig is a great version. I love when Roger sings the bridge. It always gives me chills listening to him take lead on that part. |

I didn't record any footage, but I did record all of the UK leg of the 2008 tour (except Glasgow) on lossless audio. so some of the footage thats out there with bad audio, could be overdubed with tracks from my audios. Sounds like a great project John. |

e-man 27.02.2010 07:01 |
I have no skills when it comes to dvd authoring or photoshop. (at least compared to what's available on this site). I can contribute photos for artwork / stills. If I may suggest; there are tracks which belong on a compilation like this for which there is bound to be an audio source but no video source. so for a bonus feature - what about the audio of these tracks while there's a photogallery on display? or perhaps settle for video recorded on mobiles/digital cameras when it comes to certain tracks? |

I'd be happy to contribute. Fairly extensive Video from the backs of the halls at Brixton, Paris, Hamburg, Birmingham and Wembley 2005 with appaulling sound (1.3 MP camera phone). Video footage from near the stage in Newcastle 05, and Rotterdam and Hyde Park in 05 and 08. Extensive v ideo from second O2 gig on 5mp camera phone with good sound. Probably some Berlin 08 knocking around on a hard drive somewhere too. Photo's from Tokyo 1 & 2, Yokohama 1 & 2, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Riga, Prague 08, Budapest 08 and Luxembourg (front row all shows except Fukuoka). |

So ideas for a "Live Killers" - type compilation : Everything only from 2005 Track 13 intro (audio from Brixton, video - slideshow from various pictures before concerts - I think it would be a nice idea to see pictures of yourselves before the concert begins) Lose Yourself - Brixton Tie Your Mother Down - Brixton (audio from Mr.Scully's recording, video - a multi-camera mix (I'm working on one)) A Little Bit Of Love (Brixton ???) I Want To Break Free - ??? (I would use one of the early gigs where it was sung by the audience only) Fat Bottomed Girls - ??? Wishing Well - ??? Crazy Little Thing Called Love - ??? Seagull - Brixton Say It's Not True - Brixton ??? '39 - Brixton - multi-camera mix Love Of My Life - Prague ??? Tavaszi Szel - Budapest .. maybe we can start with finding out what's the best version of each song and then continue ? |

Vienna 08 was a great gig, and even though the bootleg video is pretty good - it's sometimes very shaky |
