Everything is bigger in Texas. And this year, Super Bowl XLV will be held in the mega-plex of Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX.
With a record capacity of 105,121 last season and the largest
jumbo-tron in the world, there is no question that Super Bowl XLV will
be the sporting event of the decade.
To go along with the undoubtedly flamboyant pre-planning for next
February, the big game will need a big performer to dazzle fans during
the half-time show.
Big names have played the show in the past: U2, Paul McCartney,
Bruce Springsteen, the Who, and the Rolling Stones to name a few.
Here is list of big-named groups that should be at the top of the list to play the half time show in 2011.
3. Queen + Paul Rodgers
The epitome of stadium rock, there is no doubt that Queen + Paul Rodgers would get Arlington rocking.
During Super Bowl XLIV, the Who performed without bassist John Entwistle and drummer Keith Moon, who died in 2002 and 1978.
Likewise, Queen would have to take the stage without long-time lead singer Freddie Mercury, who passed away in 1992.
But Queen hasn't lost a step since Mercury's death, adding Paul
Rodgers and continuing to tour. Although Queen hasn't had many chart
toppers with Rodgers as the front man, they do have "We Will Rock You,"
"I Want It All," "Under Pressure," and "We Are The Champions" on their
resume.
Although Queen hasn't had many chart toppers with Rodgers as the front man,
That would be NONE, for those playing at home.
I will be attending however, regardless. I would hope that they would bring the BIGGEST act going at the time. It will be the highest attended Super Bowl ever, parking will be over $100, the city of Dallas (and Arlington) is going to make a pile of money. They can afford to get the most expensive, most elaborate show ever. Unfortunately Michael will not be around to perform, as this would have been a lock.
