From Dimeadozen http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=291365 These are the original unaltered files, which are handy to have before the remaster comes out. Don’t read this if you hate stories. I was asked to put this up by many folks. Sound quality is much better than I remembered. This was one of those nights where I was mixing a little smoke, girls, and taping. The girl I’m with decides to take a couple of qualudes while she and her friends were in the ladies room….so she is useless. I get into the Boston Garden and the row I have tickets for (14th row I think) is now the 1st row. I mean right at the edge of the stage. I cannot even see the stage, it’s too high. Queen has extended the stage out into the floor area. My seat is right in the corner where the original stage ends and the extension begins. There is a huge commotion in this area because people are pissed about where they are sitting. You are being escorted to about midway on the floor of the Garden, where folding chairs have been set up for everyone. I decide to stay with my 1st row seats. Thin Lizzy has begun their set. I try and set up to record but between the usher and the people trying to figure out what has happened, things are very difficult. So I capture the end of the Thin Lizzy set sitting in my seat. The Queen intro starts and I begin recording. I try and stand on my seat but the usher cautions me to sit down (you will hear him say this several times on the tape). So I record the first 2 songs from my seat again. About midway thru ‘White Queen’ everyone stands and there isn’t much the usher can do except to say “sit down”. I stand up holding my microphone (which I had painted black a few weeks earlier). The trouble is I can just barely see the top of the stage and the cable to my microphone is pulled taut. This causes one of the channels to cut out intermittently. After ‘Bring Back That Leroy Brown’ I sat down and changed cassettes, picked up the TC152 recording deck and put it on my seat. Then I stood on the arm rests in order to get higher than stage level and started recording. At this height, the sound off the stage was fabulous. I stayed there for most of the show, but my mic cord was still taut, so I still ended up getting an intermittent channel/noise issue. To make matters worse, some guy jumped into my seat when I tried to move the deck. As I yelled at him to get back, I ended up accidentally turning the VU Meter lights on, which caused the batteries to drain quickly. So though I was holding my mic after ‘Liar’, I just wasn’t taping anything. One other thing: something odd happened. I was standing on the arm rests; this would have been midway through the show. I am holding my mic as high as I can. Freddie comes over to my corner of the stage while singing. It was strange. I’m holding a mic and Freddie is only 20-30ft from me and he is holding a mic. I know he looked over in my direction which caused me to pull the mic towards my chest. I can’t explain it. It was an odd feeling. So many things went wrong at this show, and my deck got crushed and cracked that I almost went back to taping FM broadcasts and thought about giving up trying to do anything at the Boston Garden. I used Goldwav to fix the channel dropouts. However I left the intermittent mic cable blips in as I am not as proficient as others and didn’t want to butcher this recording (which was butchered already). This recording is coming from my reels as I no longer have the original cassettes in my possession. Queen Boston Garden, Boston Mass Feb 9th 1977 Audience Recording (Incomplete) Total Time: 80:35 1. Thanks everybody for sharing this one!! Great Quality! Unfortunately is Freddie voice in a bad shape tonight... I'm listen now to my "mix" (fixed the dopouts and a little bit stereo issue's also lifted down the low frequency) again sounds absolutely great! My poor neighbours... Guys, I need some help. I am downloading at 225Kb/s but uploading at only 0.2Kb/s. I am trying to find info on how to fix this but I can't find anything in the Dime FAQ or Wiki. Could please someone tell me how to seed with a decent speed? Thanks a lot! |

If so, turn off everything else and see what happens. You can also test your line speed (google this - there are lots of tests available) but the result will probably be overly optimistic IMHO. Your ISP may well be the source of your problem - many ISPs limit upspeed to 100 kbs (irrespective of the advertised downspeed which may be very impressive) but it may be difficult to get them to admit to this (or even to understand what you are talking about - I have experienced this!). This isn't very technical - perhaps someone else has a better answer? Good luck, anyway! |

I am with the uTorrent seeding (the download has been completed). I have used the Ctrl+G option and the settings have been fixed by the program itself, but at this moment nothing is seeding (it shows: Seeds 0 (70) and Leechers 0 (22)). I don't know if this is the reason of my problem, because when the program fixed these settings there were already 0 connections, so I cannot test if that made the trick. Anyway I find a bit odd that such a gem has became so inactive that quickly... it doesn't smell good IMHO. Thanks for your help! |

In other words, the torrent is not inactive, it is over-active - lots of seeders, not enough leechers (though if you're patient, they will come). On the other hand, the QZ torrent has 18 seeders for 5 (of 18) leechers. That's still good but your seeding help would be more appreciated there. I am seeding both and have very slow speed on the Dime and very good speed on the QZ. |

CGtteir 25.02.2010 09:05 |
I know that was I supposed to do, but for some reason 7zip tells me that they are corrupt files. I have no idea why. This is for the first time when I have problems with this program and archived files. Can you please make a md5 file of the archives? Maybe one file is corrupt so that I know which one is the problem. |
Marknow 25.02.2010 09:34 |
I have just tried to extract the files with 7zip, and it gives me an error too. Which is quite strange. I made the files with winzip, and they still extract with no errors, using winzip. I don't know why this happens tbh it should extract with 7zip too. Download winzip here, it's free to try for 45 days http://download.cnet.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html or try another freeware program. Let me know if winzip works for you please. |
CGtteir 25.02.2010 09:50 |
It worked, thank you. When I installed WinZip it asked me something about compatibility with the old versions of WinZip. I don't have time to check if that's really the problem, but I think it is, and I will always recommend a freeware open source program like 7zip, PeaZip or Izarc. Anyway much appreciated the help and thanks once again for your upload. |
Marknow 25.02.2010 09:59 |
Glad it worked on winzip anyway. Shame about 7zip not working, great little program, had it on xp for years, but it gave me grief on Win 7 64 bit. |
