Oi! Seems I'm the first to comment on all your mixes ...you must hate me by now! My comments...hmm, well, it's not nearly as radical as the others, and actually is quite good. The only thing I would say is work on getting the sound levels right, and I think you have a winner. I like the amount of bass, but the keyboard parts are eliminated completely in spots, and it leaves it a little empty in places. I would say expirement with the keyboards, maybe even use some of the phaser a bit and just toy with it. Not sure if you have the multis for this song or not, but have some fun with it, and get creative. Best of luck! :) Oh yes, and good job, and thank you for sharing. You're finding your feet with it! Keep it up.
I like it, it's not the wildest remix out there but still enjoyable.
You used ripped tracks from the 5.1 remix I assume, so I think it's difficult to adjust some of the instruments like bambams-paradise noticed.
Although it's a shame it's mono I think it's your best mix so far, so keep it up and I'll be looking forward to your next mix. ;-)
Thanks guys for your input. :-)
Yes Daniel, it was from the 5.1 mixes. Didn't play around with Stereo aspect of the mix this time, (tiny bit of Stereo in the mix though, 2nd "Amazing feeling coming through" briefly, L & then R, but as I said, just concentrated on the song it'self.
Bambam, yes, still finding my feet in this mixing lark. hopefully I'll get there one day ;-)
Don't know if you heard/downloaded any of the other mixes I did in the past, just to compare? I did mixes of "A Kind of Magic" & "Surf's Up" (they are posted in this fan mix section, somewhere if you look back)
I think I need to spend some serious time with the program, I've only just started out along the proverbial "Great Wall of China"
May I ask what program you use, just curious.
And what might help is that I don't upload a remix right after I think it's good enough for Fan mixes.
I (at least) think it's better to listen to your own remix again the next day and see if you think it's still as good.
Just some advice. :-)
Hi Daniel, the program I have been using is Adobe Audition, but as you can tell, I am still finding my way around the program. Any pointers would be appreciated. :-)
sound advice daniel, about leaving it & then listening to it again the next day. I thought that after I posted the last mix, I think my next one, when I get an idea, i'll stick with it untill I think it's right & if I'm not convinced myself, I'll bin it & start again.
Well, I'm sorry, but I can't give you any pointers, I don't use Adobe Audition (never did). ;-)
All the mixes I've made I did with a Magix Music Maker program.
Unfortunately, as I'm not in any way technical about making fan mixes, I can't really give any pointers either...my apologies. One day, I may take the time and learn how to do it. With my schedule of being in a band full time, being a dad, and working, it does make time very limited.
In saying that, I have not checked out the other mixes, but I will take the time later today to see if I can dig them up and have a listen. I agree with Daniel, in that this is your best mix so far. And props to you, as you are pretty much the only one doing anything with mixes today. That being said, that's not saying anything on the other guys who previously did them, as there's not a whole lot to work with out there, just more or less the 'hits' DVDs, and the two DVD audio discs. Please keep it up! You're doing just fine! :)
