How can I tell if my picture discs are fake or real?
It's the 7" pd from 1982, interviews with Brian and Roger... set of two picture discs, Freddie and Brian on first, Roger and John on second. Bought the a while ago, what makes me suspiscious is the fact that they are both still sealed and I did not pay that much for them...

They're definitely legit.
But my question is... do both discs contain the same interviews?
Oh nice! I really made a bargain then!
I haven't broken the seal yet, not even sure I want to do that but it would be nice to hear the content.
As I understand it's the same interview running from disc 1 side A to disc 2 side B...
These are pirate pressed, unofficial discs - BOOTLEGS, as the man in the street calls them.
The content is the same as on A TON of other 'interviews and press-conferences' products that were made over the decades. Picture discs in all sizes and shapes, coloured vinyls in all colours and formats, boxed sets, cd's with cards, cd in a card, cd in a can, cd in a box, cd in a sock...
It might fetch a couple of euro's from an 'I want everything that has Freddies face on it'-fan, or an ignorant starter-collector, but all these releases have ZERO collectors value!
Sorry, LMB, no matter what you paid for it - I don't think you can speak about 'a bargain'...
BTW: the interviews on them were indeed conducted in 1982 (and 1984!) - but these discs come from the 90's.
Yeah that's right! Well I gave like 3£ for them at a lot sale.
So how do the real 7" pd interview 1982 look like? Anyone have any pictures?
Is it the same just "Queen productions" added?
Thanks for your help!
I don't really consider myself a collector, I buy things that have a value to me - for sheer estetics or the music or for any other reason it speeks to me... and when you found one nice looking queen piece among lamps and used cereal bowls
with a ridiculous price tag like 50 p or something, how can you not buy it? Finding this object made my day anyways!

I don't think this material was ever legit to begin with. It's simply an interview, probably from a cassette, dubbed onto vinyl and put onto the market.

That's what I thought at first too but after buying these pd's I went to Andys Queen Page and found this: http://www.pcpki.com/cgi-bin/discography.cgi?is:INTERVIEW
The first 7" pd in the list describes my records, well without the "Queen Productions" I guess!
This is why I first wondered if my pd's are real or fake, could be fun to see the real ones...

Well another way to look at it is:
You wouldn't want to hang the original vinyls on the wall or anything, but these would look great displayed.
That's really the best way to look at it, if it was original pd's i probably never would take the out of the plastic, never get to listen to them and it's probably interviews I've never heard, and what is the value of that?
I understand why collectors value their gems high, often been collecting for decades, but to think about starting a real collection now when items just get more rare by the minut would just be real expensive or plain impossible!

Then I stand corrected ! Does anyone have a scan of the original 1982 versions?
