I was wondering what do you think about the tracklisting on this album? I always felt that it was at least "controversial". I mean, it wasn't a bad idea to sum up this last period in Queen's career and include some solo work in it, but certain choices were a bit odd. And the "danceable" version of Under Pressure promoting it... If they were in such a bad need of a single, then perhaps it would have been a better idea to fiddle with "Thank God It's X-mas" a bit? The album was released in time for Christmas after all. The song itself didn't have many chances back in 1984, competing with the likes of Wham!, Band Aid or Frankie Goes To Hollywood, but in 1999 who knows? Coupled with the original version? Anyways, if you were to decide, what songs would you include on "GHIII"? Here are my suggestions:
[listo]
[li]A Winter’s Tale
[li]I Was Born To Love You / Freddie
[li]Barcelona / Freddie & Montserrat
[li]Too Much Love Will Kill You
[li]Somebody To Love / Queen & G. Michael
[li]You Don’t Fool Me
[li]Heaven For Everyone
[li]Las Palabras De Amor
[li]Driven By You / Brian
[li]Living On My Own (No More Brothers Mix) / Freddie
[li]Let Me Live
[li]The Great Pretender / Freddie
[li]Love Kills / Freddie
[li]Another One Bites The Dust / Queen & W. Jean
[li]No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)
[li]These Are The Days Of Our Lives
[li]Thank God It’s Christmas (new mix?)
[li]Bonus track: The Show Must Go On / Queen & E. John
[/listo]
I really think it is a great playlist. I really like it. I really happy that you don't fool me is on there, it is one of my all time favorite queen songs. like, EVER! When the guitar kicks in, that is sooo great, i get a shiver always. The Queen and Elton Song is a bit weird though.
Greatest Hits lll was the first Queen album I bought, only last year, and I was amazed at the quality of the music. I love this version of "Under Pressure", it's one of my favourites. "You Don't Fool Me" is another favourite. What I was ever so slightly peeved about was that some songs were sung by other people ie from the tribute concert. However, I do think Elton John singing "The Show...." is the best singing I've heard EJ ever do. Perhaps ther'll be other people like me who
bought a gratest hits album, then went on to buy other Queen albums as a result.
In 2000, I bought some chill-out CDs, then went mad buying albums of the several of the artists I liked, and discovered
lots of brilliant music that way.

Agreed. "You Don't Fool Me" is one of their best songs and includes one of Brian's best solos ever. With the video the song had such an incredibly 90s feel, quite amazing... Very underrated.
And yes, personally I would skip the Elton John collaboration, although it was the last time Brian, Roger and John performed together and many people seem to like it, so it could have been a fitting way to close the album.
I always skip Elton's awfull rendition of The Show Must Go On[Its bloody awfull] the rest is okay and i love the new mix of Pressure.Pity there is none of Rogers solo stuff on it though.

Sorry!!?? Did i miss something!!?? What has a Beatles song got to do with Queen GH3.
That was a joke, I guess, but my answer to that would be "almost as much as Wyclef Jean's version of AOBTD".
And to think that at the time Brian had just recorded We Will Rock You with boy band Five (or 5ive, like Brits call them) and he regreted the song was not released in time to be included in GH3.
To be honest, it's many times better than Wyclef's AOBTD and it was a #1 hit!
How many of you diss that song but still brag about Queen having a #1 UK single in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's? :P
To bore the old readers again, yet adding to the original post (and I hate to do these 'what should have been lists, but)
This is what SHOULD have been released (keeping with the theme of the release, and fitting for GHIII...my favorite album art cover, but worst Queen release).
1. The Show Must Go On (from 'Innuendo'...........gosh, do ya think they had a similar, but slightly different version?)
2. Barcelona (LP version)
3. Too Much Love Will Kill You
4. Somebody To Love (GMichael Tribute version)
5. Heaven For Everyone (LP version)
6. A Winter's Tale
7. Las Pallabros de Amor
8. Driven By You
9. There Must Be More To Life Than This
10. Spread Your Wings
Disk Two
1. Tie Your Mother Down (minus the intro)
2. Let Me Live
3. The Great Pretender-remix (you scoundrel, you cheat)
4. Princes Of The Universe
5. Man On Fire
6. No One But You
7. These Are The Days Of Our Lives
8. Scandal
9. Thank God It's Christmas
10. Keep Passing The Open Windows (personal choice)
11. Is This The World We Created
12. The Show Must Go On (with Elton John)............just because
(or....'Forever'....how fitting)
It is more adult. It is more fitting of the 'Queen' sound. It eliminates the terrible remixes. And......it is a fitting end, along with kicking axe.
Then again, I had a version that included 'Time' as track one of disk two, and 'In My Defence' at the end, before 'Forever'.
I did end up liking 'You Don't Fool Me', simply due to the terrific guitar solo, but...............
This track listing is still better than what we ended up with.........IMHO. Gave the original one listen ten years ago, and never again.
