Just to confirm the original post....Jim aka Séamus Hutton has passed away today at 1pm GMT in his home in Carlow Ireland...he will be sadly missed RIPxXx |
Mr. Scully 01.01.2010 13:55 |
Can this be confirmed by somebody else than two new posters on QueenZone or anonymous people on facebook? I think it's unfortunately true but I'd rather see some confirmation from somebody we all know. |
emerald44 01.01.2010 14:05 |
this can be confirmed by some people on facebook ...... if you like you can search on facebook see what you find i KNOW people who are on jim,s friend list who have posted their condolences .. i dont want to mention names on here ... his family members have not obviously posted but friends of seamus (jim ) such as myself have added their condolences like i said on facebook ... xx |
Mr. Scully 01.01.2010 14:07 |
Yes, I can see the RIP's on Jim's facebook page but that doesn't mean much, those are from people who could have read this QueenZone topic. What exactly happened, does anybody know? |
pittrek 01.01.2010 14:15 |
It's a bad way how to start a new year if it's true :( |
emerald44 01.01.2010 14:16 |
well i dont think people would post r.i.p on his page in facebook for the laugh of it in fairness ... its up to you wheather you believe it or not ... !! not trying to be smart or anything . In the end Seamus died from lung cancer but i suppose you,ll doubt that too .. ... sad fact is he has passed away and he will always be loved and remembered by his family and friends . |
john bodega 01.01.2010 14:16 |
Oh bugger. Now I feel bad for announcing his death in every "Where is Hutton now" thread. :( RIP. |
Mr. Scully 01.01.2010 14:18 |
I just didn't want to believe the first thing I hear, that's all. But more and more people seem to confirm that :-( |
YourValentine 01.01.2010 14:26 |
emerald44, I am very, very sorry to hear that. Please understand our concerrn - it has happened over again that people registered on QueenZone only to post some hoax news. It would be nice of you if you could send us a message to make sure you are a friend. Please click on the "contact us " button on the right lower corner of the page. Thank you very much. |

Very sad news. RIP. |
ParisNair 01.01.2010 14:35 |
This is sad news, at the start of the New Year. I remember wathcing the Untold Story and thinking Jim Hutton being one of the few people who gave their comments in an honest, matter-of-fact way. He did not sound patronising (unlike some others who tried hard to show that they were close to Freddie) and came across a s a real nice guy IMO. I'm sure there were many people near and dear to him. RIP. |
Kevinrm15 01.01.2010 14:47 |
Say It's Not True please...... Ok no more puns! This is sad serious news! Please can someone give me a RELIABLE resource. R.I.P. Jim, you can now be with Freddie in a better place... - Kevin |
LadySonnet 01.01.2010 15:12 |
I've just received a newsletter from the official Italian Queen Fan Club. They announce the same. Rest in peace, Jim! |
Pim Derks 01.01.2010 15:26 |
R.I.P. Jim, may you be with Freddy once more. Where do we get private videos and raunchy details from now...? :( |

Jim had been a friend of mine since 1992 and 'yes' it is true that he sadly passed away this afternoon. Adam Tidd Former Editor of 'The Queen Chronicle'. |
GratefulFan 01.01.2010 18:28 |
Very, very sad. I hope his final weeks and months were made comfortable and safe by those that cared about him in the same way that he helped Freddie finish his time here. And whether death experiences are spiritual events or artifacts of a dying brain I hope Jim had a wonderful and euphoric vision of Freddie greeting him as he passed. My sincere condolences to his friends and family. I wish I would have known he had a Facebook page. I would have told him how much I appreciated his book and how I f'ed over the greedy North American dealers by getting a beautiful hardcover edition at a very reasonable price from the UK on Ebay from somebody who loved Freddie as much as I did. And good on him and the medical establishment for wringing out 20 more years of life while dealing with HIV. I hope they were happy ones. |

This is very sad. And surprising. I thought he was fine. I'm really sorry for his family and friends. Just some months ago (maybe almost a year?, times flies...) I had found out about his Facebook page here, I think. I added him and he had the kindness to add all of us Freddie fans adding him. In his Facebook page there's a very nice comment by Niall, who posted here sometimes. And someone (Dave Cox) posted info about the funeral arrangements. It seems they're inviting people to go. Rest in Peace Jim. My condolences to his family and friends. |

In case anyone wants to know Brian's thoughts on Jim... "We mark and mourn the passing, after a long smoking-related illness of Jim Hutton. Jim and Freddie were close for many years, of course, and in modern parlance would have been called civil partners. Jim was a quiet and gentle soul, unimpressed and faintly amused by the machinations of Fame, Rock and Roll, and Queen, and so provided Freddie with a refreshingly different view on life. Jim was devoted to gardening, and to breeding the carp which gave Freddie so much pleasure in his pond at Garden Lodge. Our sincere condolences to his sisters and family. RIP Jim." Nice of him to give his condolences... RIP Jim. Take care... |

What I wish the obituary could have stated: "Jim Hutton, surviving spouse of the iconic Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the world reknowned music band, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long illness from lung cancer, on (fill in the blank) at (fill in the blank). Mr. Hutton was 61." Regardless of religious belief, and your for or against, who else loved Fred, or was loved more by Fred. We weren't there for those horrific final months, but Jim was. Peace, good sir. |
Farrokh Mercury 08.01.2010 17:56 |

I was very sad to hear about Jim Hutton's death. =( I like to think that he and Freddie would have still been together now, and been civil partners. =) Anyone else think it's interesting that Jim died on New Year's Day, and Freddie was born on Parsi New Year's Day? Or is it just me being a bit obsessive? No need to answer that, by the way. Haha. |
