Why was S.M.M. left off of Innuendo? I'm going to guess that it was probably because it did not fit the tone of the album. But, also, can anyone tell me how it came about, was it ever going to be on Innuendo, etc? Thanks.
I've always thought that it would have helped add a bit more rock to innuendo, possibly replacing All God's People or Delilah. It would've also helped to keep me from crying when I hear all those "death" songs on the album.
It sounds to me like a very incomplete, mostly Brian-based song which even if completed would probably end up a b-side at best. The musical style doesn't fit with anything on Innuendo.
But you could always ask Brian, and if Jen puts you through, it'll just irritate him that the song leaked at all and he'll add another 10 year sentence to all of the vaulted material during a 5 minute break from the planning sessions for Absolute Greatest Volume II.
