We all know that Queen were not avalible for the Band aid song Do they know its xmas but i was thinking if they had have been in it what would Freddie have sang and what would the rest of the band done.
bob geldof is a grandstander .... prick. at live 8 he demanded he get to play his shitty Mondays song even though it was not in the schedule and then the Who got less time .....
Well since THE WHO only played 2 songs and like to draw a song out over 10 minutes I don't think any time was really taken from them....and "I Don't Like Monday's" is actually the only descent song by that shitty band...
I think if the guy wants to do a song at his own charity gig along with everyone else, why shouldn't he?!
Imagine if it was Freddie who'd put together Band Aid and demanded he get to sing a song, even though it wasn't on the schedule. I'd bet you'd be more than happy for it to happen. Lighten up!
If Freddie would have sung in this Band Aid song, I can imagine him singing the part of George Michael (0:49) or the part of Paul Young (2:14).
As the band they probably would have done some backing vocals.
No, i think as the session went on and the arrangements progressing , they would have most probably concluded that freddie would sing the entire songs lead vocal and the rest on backing vocals, i mean come on , they would'nt of exactly been queing up to follow freds line would they?
Strange to come across this thread, as I was just thinking about this song. I remember, back in the day, straining to hear Fred's voice in it on the radio(having to strain to hear, and coming up with nothing should have been my first clue), and being disappointed when I saw the video and learned that Queen were not involved! I had surmised(incorrectly) that they must be involved in the project.
