Thanks so much for this. Can you give us more information about the source and your recorder? Is this a digital source (satellite?) Or is it cable? I'm assuming you used a standalone recorder. Can you tell me which one and the quality setting (XP, SP or something like that) Is the audio (compressed) AC3 (dolby digital) or maybe (lossless) LPCM? Sorry for all the questions. Maybe you can give us the answers you have and someone who has finished the download can post the rest. If this is truly an improvement over what has been available previously it would be nice to get someone who recorded it off satellite (with LPCM audio) to up a definitive version. Does anyone monitoring the Queen Hub know if there's another version there? |

Does anyone monitoring the Queen Hub know if there's another version there? Are you sure the video compression on BBC from satellite is better than DTT though? I chose to record from DTT as my DVD recorder only records in AC3. I also recorded from analog TV nicam tuner to Beta HIFI tape, would this be equal to LPCM? I would think this share is in one hour mode as it equates to 3.16GB, roughly the same as my 47 minute recording in one hour mode, so it probably is in AC3 as well. |

That's right, this is AC3 surround sound mode 48kHz 2 ch. deltazulu, even if you get a LPCM version from this broadcast you wouldn't have a def version since it's cut, it misses songs so I do recommend you to wait for the official release, that should be the definitive version ;-) |

kurgan100 wrote:I'm not sure about any of this. Digital TV would be better quality than cable. The audio off your beta hifi would not be compressed like AC3. But it's no longer a digital source like an LPCM recording off Sat or Digital TV to a PVR. (The original recording isn't digital.. so it's all debatable.) My standalone lets me record LPCM. Maybe if someone did get it LPCM they can up the results and we can compare. I understand this is not a definitive version. But there's no guarantee of a DVD so it would be nice to find the best available source that's available now. I'm assuming this one was recorded off the satellite or digital tv. We don't have that answer from the uploader yet.deltazulu wrote: Thanks so much for this. Can you give us more information about the source and your recorder? Is this a digital source (satellite?) Well I'm quite disappointed by this :( The video looks much worse than my old version, especially at the beginning (it gets better and better), but it has some parts which are not on the Japan rebroadcast. But come on, ghosting in 2009 ? Especially if the previous broadcasts don't have it ? The sound mix is terrible, I start to really hate JSS. I thought Roger used a drumkit and not his kitchen equipment :( Brian's guitar at the beginning of BoRhap, his best ever performance is silent as never before. Didn't they used to have a bass player ? Oh wait, he starts to play around Liar, right. But at least we have Freddie's Christmas references. Not to mention the overdubs. Well I'll stick to my old version until a proper official DVD will come out, I hope it will be worth the money. Video : 7/10 (the 101 Rooms version - 9/10) Audio : 5/10 (the 101 rooms version 8/10) |

Video : 7/10 (the 101 Rooms version - 9/10) Audio : 5/10 (the 101 rooms version 8/10) Maybe the sharer recorded from analog transmission if there is ghosting present, as most dvd recorders have analog tuners built in and not digital. My version was recorded via AV from a digital receiver and I see no ghosting at all, infact I'd say its on par with the room 101 version video wise and far superior audio wise. Also check the sound on this share is infact stereo as a lot of built in tuners are mono. Perhaps the sharer can confirm what hardware was used. |
pittrek 29.11.2009 10:51 |
I'm not sure if "ghosting" is the right term, but this "effect" is visible in mostly the songs before Brighton Rock especially in the dark areas. But still it has for the first time the parts which were broadcast only on the OGWT broadcast :) |

I think most answers on how I recorded this have been answered by others. It's recorded in one-hour mode on a standalone Philips DVD recorder. Because the show would last less than one hour I chose the highest available quality on my recorder. I have cable tv, not digital. I too noticed at playback (I couldn't watch the show live on tv because I had to get up early) that there was some ghosting as you call it. The lighting during the show was in most cases pretty bad I think, or at the wrong places or not in time. Sometimes Freddie stood almost totally in the dark when, in my view, he shouldn't. Perhaps this was no problem at the venue that night, but on tv it looks terrible sometimes. I don't know if you can improve this while recording at home, by means of using sattelite, digital tv or cable. The ONE and only reason I uploaded this show is to give people a chance to see it while we ALL are in wait for an official DVD or BluRay release. As soon as such a release is available, my own recording will be stored into the archives. I have not yet compared this recording with bootleg recordings yet. So I cannot comment on that. I sure hope an official release is on it's way. |

No audio from digital broadcasts is lossless. |

But it's a good thing to know what's the source of a recording, no matter what. In this case I had even uploaded this torrent before I'd seen it. I only edited material away that was before and after the show. I sure hope we'll see the release of Hammersmith soon. |

I wonder why is the rock'n'roll medley edited so badly. I understand they didn't want to use the original "closing credits" but they could do it as the Japanese folks - replace the video with different parts :( And I was hoping to finally hear the medley in stereo :( |
