So Brian and Roger are considering touring/recording with this guy? link At least Freddie didn't flaunt his sexuality all over the place. It's one thing if you are gay, fine, cool, but not everybody wants to see this kind of stuff... Your opinions... |
Michael Allred 24.11.2009 06:17 |
Wait, Freddie didn't flaunt his sexuality? Dude, put down the crack pipe. Freddie was about as OBVIOUSLY gay as one could be and flounced about for the world to see. |
Gregsynth 24.11.2009 10:34 |
If Freddie did flaunt his sexuality live, it was NO WHERE NEAR what Adam Lambert did. I don't recall Freddie pulling S&M stuff on stage, grabbing people's crotches, or whipping people. |

At Wembley, he said "We're not bad for 4 aging queens are we?" Obviously, the other 3 aren't gay, but you get my point. |
Kniggit 24.11.2009 12:17 |
or the "throw my cunt around the stage" comment on knebworth |

link Damn, was gonna start a thread on this only the thread title was gonna be 'Cockhead alert' This is the first time I have ever seen this guy or saw him anywhere apart from these pages and I've gotta say.. What a cockhead. |
Rubbersuit 24.11.2009 13:21 |
Flamboyant or not, I really don't want this turd crapping all over Queen's legacy. At least Paul Rodgers has some rock and roll roots. |

American Idol, in spite of the whole shit it often stands for, is sometimes the vehicle for some great singers. But Mr Lambert's not one of them. There are many gay singers whose flamboyance may upset some people but that doesn't change the fact they're great. But Mr Lambert's not one of them. |

Michael - having read some of your other posts I have one question... ahem.. Would you like to bum Adam Lambert? |
Crazy LittleThing 24.11.2009 17:49 |
I have to admit that after his "controversial" performance (which I didn't watch, and in fact have never watched Adam Lambert perform) he is now of mild interest to me. |
cacatua 24.11.2009 17:55 |
Adam is no stranger to this sort of performance in the Zodiac Show or cabaret settings, but he shouldn't have "sprung it" on network TV. GMA cancelled his appearance this morning, as ABC was not going to take any more chances, but CBS jumped in and he will be on the CBS Morning Show tomorrow, and Letterman tomorrow night. NBC wanted him on the Today Show tomorrow but already had Bon Jovi scheduled. This will eventually sort itself out. I have very mixed feelings about it all. It doesn't strike me as the best thing to be known for, though times have certainly changed a lot. I have to think now that Brian and Roger may not like to appear with someone who wants to be so in-your-face about such things, and I couldn't blame them. It should be about the music, after all. |
goinback 25.11.2009 02:21 |
Not to weigh in one way or the other on Adam, but Freddie also used to do a sort of crotch-sucking thing on Brian during SHA |
mooghead 25.11.2009 02:29 |
Dont remember Queen performing SHA on prime time american TV though. In fact when Queen did perform on prime time american tv Freddie was more interested in putting in a great vocal performance to make the songs sound as good as possible. Not pulling stupid, childish moves to get himself in next days papers. |
Gregsynth 25.11.2009 03:24 |
I know that Freddie occasionally flaunted his sexuality using words: "I'll throw my cunt around," "Another One BItes The Balls," etc. But what I was getting at was that Freddie was never "way-over-the-top" on stage unlike Adam. Oh, and to the moron a few posts up: I don't HAVE a problem with Adam's antics on stage, his VOCAL performance bothered me more than his antics. I guess the oversinging is taking its toll? LOL |

I love Michael Allred. Go get 'em. My oh my. Someone wore leather onstage and cavorted with men AND women onstage? Whoever would do that? |
YourValentine 25.11.2009 09:51 |
Apart from the fact that this is not a serious QUEEN topic (Queen as in the band Queen): Since when do members of QZ get upset about some sexual innuendo on a stage? What about Madonna, Britney, nipplegate? Michael Jackson? Oh wait - it's about GAY sexuality. It's the gay guy who makes all the closet homophobes forget their politically correct discourse. A gay guy suggesting sex on stage must be so horrible! Some people here would have made a good member of the MTV banning committee in the 1980s. |
GratefulFan 25.11.2009 15:25 |
He's lucky he got up there and acted ridiculously. It's the only thing saving him from his absurd, banal and screamingly bad vocal performance being the focus of attention. |

why this topic? what does this guy have to do with Queen, except that he was with Queen and the other guy on American Idol finals???? WTF .. and please do not mention Paul Rodgers name in the same sentence with this guy, Adam, because he's no one and Paul has great ROCK ' N ROLL HISTORY behind his back, and he was singer with Queen for few years and they also did great album, TCR, so please - open some Adam Lambert Zone.com and write there about that guy... whatever... |

To me, the big issue is why this has to be censored from the outside. If it was internal, I feel that the owners have the right to broadcast (or not) whatever they want. However, since the broadcasters are now facing fines and other punishment, it's a sad state of affairs that proves everyone is not treated equally (un)fairly under current laws and regulations. Also, I don't see the big deal in guys kissing. It was obviously a big publicity stunt intended to shock. Unfortunately, some people are simply prudes. Personally, I thought it was goofy, forced and boring. To be honest, I've never seen what's so great about Lambert. He sings well, but so many others do too. He doesn't have any charisma in my opinion, either. Plus, his fashion choices look hokey. I might be predisposed to biase, though, as I've lawyas detested AI. |

ilikefreddyguy 03.12.2009 10:46 |
Oh yeah, I like that.. uh.. Adam Bolton guy! Okay, well to be fair, we KNOW he can sing, and when I first saw him on American Idol I thought he did wonderful justice to 'We Are The Champions' and I wouldn't at all have minded a small tour with Queen + Adam Lambert, because he seemed like he 'ad some glam in his blood, and a voice to match. That is, until he decided that he needed the world to know he was alive, and he started to be really immature about it. That's the thing, Freddie OOZED sex, and people knew it, or at least he personified it, and people recognized that. This Adam chap is jumping up and down with a big sign that says "I'm a sexual beest RAWR :3" trying to capture any attention that can be tossed his way. It was obvious he does everything as a way to get his name mentioned, not because he has this big wondrous persona, it's because he's a child STARVED for attention. By all means, he's nothing more than a Boy George 2.0 and if you think that Queen is seriously going to tour with him, just remember that Roger Taylor doesn't even know his NAME. |
cacatua 03.12.2009 11:53 |
I think he has learned his lesson. I was also disappointed when he pulled that crap on the AMA's, but not quite ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater yet. Everyone deserves a second chance. It wasn't so much that many others were also acting tastelessly - that is like having your child come to you and want to do something he shouldn't because "all the other kids are doing it". It was more like I thought from everything else I had seen and heard from him that he had better judgement than to suddenly behave that way on a Sunday evening TV show. And worst of all, he sang badly too. I just got his CD from Amazon and there are several songs he might have sang that would have left a great impression instead of a bad taste................. |
Erin 03.12.2009 12:53 |
I bought his cd. It's not half bad. Maybe a quarter bad, but not half bad..;-) It's a little disjointed, due to the various songwriters, but you can't deny the guy can sing. Love the Matt Bellamy song. |

GratefulFan wrote: He's lucky he got up there and acted ridiculously. It's the only thing saving him from his absurd, banal and screamingly bad vocal performance being the focus of attention. Unfortunately Lady Gag-gag performed before he did, much to our horror! ;o) |
ilikefreddyguy 03.12.2009 15:10 |
Think of this, though. Lady Gaga- Adam Lambert- Katy Perry, we're following a pattern Outrageous costumes, flamboyant hair-dos, provacative homosexual innuendo in songs with LOOOADS of theatrics, and Frankensteinian make-up? We're living in the days of really really bad glam gone around! It's like pop is taking a page of the 70's, and adding auto-tune. The songs aren't good, the talent varies, but when ti comes to the presentation it's sheer glam attack. After all, didn't all three of the afore-mentioned artists admit that they were influenced by Bowie/Queen? I mean, Katy dresses up as Fred and sings "Don't Stop Me Now," Adam Lambert sings "Bohemian Rhapsody" on American Idol, and Lady Gaga's name comes from "Radio Ga Ga." Why can't we just T. Rex things up again, instead of these mock-pop-glam artists that carry an obvious perfume of glam, but don't offer the substance? |
cacatua 03.12.2009 15:54 |
The trouble is that it is all mixed up into a bastardization of everything! Heinz 57 - mutts! Apparitions - doppelgangers! |
