QUEEN
Absolute Geatest
THE supremely untalented Jedward (lovable though they may be) trashed We Will Rock You the other week.
Tomorrow, al the X-Factor contestants will ransack the back catalogue of Freddie Mercury and Co (with widely varying degres of success no doubt).
So the arrival of a new greeatest his collection by the real deal can't come any sooner.
Cynics may scoff at yet another repackage but these songs, Bohemian Rhapsody et al, are as vibrant and brilliant as the day they were conceived. Available in various formats, it's a perfect reminder that te great showman Freddie pts the reality wannabes firmly in thei place.
I understand that Brian may not necessarily see and approve every item on his site, but honestly, who would let this one through. You hate to use as strong a word as hipocrisy, but they're begging for it really.
Okay, so a lot of mixed messages coming out of the Queen camp about this and that, but I'm thinking maybe I've put some of it together. It seems reality shows are indeed the ruinous armpit of the music business, unless, and this is the important part, you watch them safely.
