its just been announced that this weeks x factor will be a Queen special. all the acts will be singing a track by the band! |
ILoveQueen20 10.11.2009 05:38 |
Yep Its great if the other acts sing Queen because their good & can actually sing.... But Jedward getting to tear apart ANOTHER Queen song!!!!!!? its an INSULT!!!!!! (apart from the great Queen theme) The X Factor used to be good but now its turned into a COMPLETE JOKE! Who else agrees? *Waves fist in the air with anger* |
drjones 10.11.2009 06:34 |
i wanna see somebody do liar! |
ILoveQueen20 10.11.2009 06:51 |
Did Queen do any songs called "Hippocrite"? Someone could do 'Death On two Legs' decitcated to Simon Cowell!!!!!' hahaha |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 10.11.2009 07:42 |
youre joking right? please say this is a joke? oh,god, please,Jedward was bad enough with WWRY without the rest murdering more of the back catalogue.I dare one of them to do C-lebrity! |
Mr Mercury 10.11.2009 08:40 |
One of the songs mentioned was Under Pressure to be sung - sorry - murdered by Jedward. X Factor is now a farce. In my opinion, Jedward should have been given the boot by Simon Coward - sorry again - Cowell. While I am at it, Blarney Rubble aka Louis Walsh should be given the boot too for talking too much shit. |

The band are to appear in some way, means or form (well Roger and Brian) as well as a shedload of adverts for Absolute Greatest during the show....................no doubt!! |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 10.11.2009 10:37 |
now we know why Roger said he was a fan of the show during that interview on the BBC last week. i dont want to be the one that adds 2 and 2 together to make 5 but it seems that this was already in the pipeline and the band had accepted Simon Cowells 30 pieces of silver by the time Roger had done the interview. seems they will now stoop to any level to shift a few [revamped] records in time for Christmas. C-lebrity my arse, they should make the follow up song "hyprocrite!" |
new one 10.11.2009 10:44 |
I wonder if Brian and Roger will be doing the mentoring/advice to the contestants. They did this on American idol a few years ago, right? Anyway, I did think it was strange that Roger said he enjoyed the show. Now we know why. I wonder if he or Brian have ever actually watched an episode? I have to confess I watch it myself, so I can't really slag them off. |
Soul Brother 10.11.2009 11:58 |
The show seems to be fairly big on taking on the Mentor eg Whitney Houston so the chances are that there may be some input from Messrs Taylor and May. I reckon this will be as some kind of 'suprise' during rehearsals or as members of the audience on the Saturday night show. There is the possibility of a live appearance on the Sunday night show too..........but who's going to provide the vocals?! We will definately see Brian and Roger during the two nights of the show, guaranteed! |

C-lebrity my arse, they should make the follow up song "hyprocrite!" Spot on. Was watchin a bio of Status Quo the other day. It's amazing how shamelessly commercial they grew as they got older. They were talking about doing charity shows to get publicity, how they ran out fo ideas and started doing covers etc. All sounded like the desperate acts of old men trying to stay somehow relevant as they reached their sixties. Substitute Queen for Status Quo and you couldn't really tell the difference. They have become shameless self-promoters of their cash-cow back catalogue, while at the same time, they apparently want to be taken seriously for their new-found "politics". I have something profound to say to Brian and Roger about all of this : fanny biscuit cock monkey, |
catqueen 10.11.2009 14:22 |
Oh dear... oh dear Oh dear... It will be... interesting, i think might be an appropriate word? Maybe i just better not say anything. :( |
Aisha Sweetness 10.11.2009 15:49 |
link Whats the best he'll mentor this week...I will loose all respect for him if he does....Dont do it Brian or your disowned... :) |
Bo Rhap 10.11.2009 16:10 |
I have to say that if Brian and Roger go on to mentor on this programme then they risk the possiblity of going down in a lot of people's estimation.Including mine. This programme has became a joke since the two Irish twats appeared on it.Ofcourse, the appearance money will help to pay for Brian and Roger's mansions. |
Soul Brother 10.11.2009 17:15 |
For f**k sake I wish you would stop taking this so seriously! Face it, you'll be glued to the box as you wouldn't miss it for the world. A bit of fun really and a good way to get Queen music injected into the public mainstream again (c 16million viewers on Saturday evening). OK no telling what some of the performances will be like, but they will largely be not too bad. |
Soul Brother 10.11.2009 17:20 |
This link takes you to updates on who will be doing what song on Saturday. The Sunday performances will be by Shakira (oooo mama) and the final 12 doing a charidddy Chrismas single. Jedward will be doing Radio Ga Ga and Danyl Johnson We Are The Champions........others not yet revealed: link |
Aisha Sweetness 10.11.2009 17:25 |
link There all gonna fail........ |

I am sure Brian and Roger will have some sort of mentoring appearance on the show to tie in with the release of Absolute Greatest. I will be surprised if someone like Lloyd Daniels recognises them though, becuase if you mention Queen to many youngsters today, they may know a couple of songs maybe, but they wouldn't have a clue who Brian May or Roger Taylor were! As has been said on the show before, the contestants will struggle to hit the heights of Freddie Mercury, but this year I feel there is a chance of some good, if not great performances. That young Geordie lad, Joe, has a fantastic voice, as does Daniel, Olly and to some extent, Jamie. Stacey should do ok with a Queen ballad, as for John and Edward, they are a complete joke. |

I love X Factor. I love Jedward. I love Queen. There. |
Freya is quietly judging you. 11.11.2009 07:14 |
Oh wank. I double posted. |
ParisNair 11.11.2009 10:23 |
What I cannot understand is why Brian has to be so generous in his praise of all and sundry. He should learn from John's examle. Though a man of few words, when he does talk, he talks his mind. His opinion on "We Are The Champions" Robbie William's version comes to mind. |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 11.11.2009 11:36 |
cant wait to hear the twats version of Radio Gaga on saturday.. can you detect the sarcasm in my words? |
Bo Rhap 11.11.2009 16:11 |
Yep Those twats should never be allowed anywhere near the studio, nevermind anywhere near a Queen song. Freddie must be doing pirouettes in his grave. |
Freya is quietly judging you. 11.11.2009 20:59 |
I don't understand why everyone takes it so seriously. Take it for what it is, a rubbish but entertaining show. I hate all this "how dare they touch a Queen song" crap. The twins are bloody hilarious and their stupid hair is reason enough to watch the show. And however much you all complain, you know full well you'll be watching it, whether on youtube, or whether it be live. I'm looking forward to it. |
ILoveQueen20 12.11.2009 04:09 |
OMG!!!! is it true Jedward are doing Radio Gaga!!!!!!??? *Hoffified face* GOD NO!!!!! PLEASE NO!!! Thats one of my ultimate favorite Queen songs!!!!! When they sing it I might have to go and hide under the bed! lol |
Soul Brother 12.11.2009 06:16 |
Good call "Freya is quietly judging you" I totally agree. This is nothing but good for Queen. Just because someone does a shit version of their song doesn't ruin the original. It just makes it better and makes everyone realise just what a great band they were/are! |

Im actually SO jealous that they got to meet them! *cries* Where can I meet Roger and Brian? lol Does Absoloute Greastest coming out soon have anything to do with "Queen night"? *supious face* |
Freya is quietly judging you. 13.11.2009 07:51 |
Brain? Metoring? Supious? |
kevukuk 13.11.2009 11:49 |
well i hate x factor, cowell is the devil, clogging up the charts with talentless kareoke singers. i bet deaky wouldn't touch this with a bargepole!!! still, they've got a pointless "new" album to promote!! |
GratefulFan 13.11.2009 12:31 |
Word to my beloved Briay May: You can either demand an engaged, thoughtful, discerning populace or you can show up on X-Factor with 'Jedward'. Probably not both so much. |
ILoveQueen20 14.11.2009 12:28 |
Well On 'The Sun' link more info above^ In the photos Brian & Roger looked like they were enjoying metoring them xD Im actually really looking forward to it now! 'Jedward' are aparently doing Under Pressure but with Vanilla Ice's lyrics if thats true their not actaully doing Queen original song....*shurgs* So it should be a good & a laugh :) |
