I just heard that it sounds like Brian and Roger are deeply considering splitting up. Does anyone know if this is true? |
david (galashiels) 05.11.2009 16:45 |
was this from your best mate.or official person.. |

Yep, your dead right. It's all over. On the plus side, Roger is going on tour with Spike next year, under the Queen name. Brian will be touring with Jamie and Danny, also as Queen. Happy days, two Queen tours for Europe next year. No dates for USA at the moment , Brian says he couldn't be bothered, and Roger doesn't like the food over there. John Deacon will not be joining either band, but gave them both his best wishes, along with his bank details for the royalties. |

The end of Queen??? Pffft don't be stupid - they've been saying that since Freddie died! |
Crazy LittleThing 05.11.2009 18:51 |
And in other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. |
Robbieboy 05.11.2009 19:06 |
I didn't know they were going out. |

The end of Queen start in 1991 and finished in 1997....so sad but true |

The fake muzak cash register is still ringing, so why would they want to split ? "We are not that stupid." |
blackshuck03 06.11.2009 05:10 |
Where did this info regrding the split and the 2 QUEEN bands come from? |
ILoveQueen20 06.11.2009 05:19 |
To me Queen Is'nt Queen without Freddie plus John D left years ago!!!!! Yep I read in a newspaper Brian is thinking about it! *sigh* could this really be the end!!!!!? xO and if they did go solo and tour with other ppl WTH would they use the name 'Queen' cos their techniqly not a band together anymore?? |
dragon-fly 06.11.2009 10:35 |
Earlier or later they'll think up something anyway. Let's hope not too late. May and Taylor splitting up? They are destined to each other! :) |

The show must go on. The Queen name must not. |

As a band, Queen died in 1991 with Freddie's death, but it will be forever in our hearts. For me Queen + Paul Rodgers is just another band without Freddie and John, which uses songs from Queen and Paul Rodgers life. I don't mind if they play under the name of Queen + Paul Rodgers because there was only one Queen. But I think that we can't be talking about the end of Queen right now because the band died with Freddie, but their music are with us |

Splendid! Brian said that they'd open the archive vaults after their official disband. Maybe we'll get the boxsets after all. BTW, Queen as a band died on 12/24/91 after that date they tried to stuff the corpse and keep it together with strings and wires, yet it kept tearing apart. |
Freddie Mercury. 06.11.2009 15:23 |
that's not right. I've just heard a inteview with Roger wich was filmed yesterday and Roger is saying that him and Brian maybe wants to do something with Adam Lambert in the future. and in the latest queenfan magasin Brian is writing that there is an important one-off perfomance on offer in the USA and maybe they will take up that challenge, and that is both. so it's not true. |

What a lot of shite! As Roger confirms on today's BBC Breakfast TV interview: link |

Welcome to QZ Freddy Mercury! Hope you have a good time here and are not put off by people giving out crazy info! :) I like this thread! Maybe if they did spit and have two Queen tours at same time, one of them might get to my corner of the world this time! |

If they are, good for them! I think that they should do it out of respect for Freddie. It's not just queen without him. As I call it, they should pull a Led Zeppelin. |

Funny. I wonder where the Bolton part came from. Was there another one in the running named Bolton? |

It would have been "pulling a Led Zeppelin" if they had split after the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Splitting almost 20 years after the fact, after releasing an album of patchwork songs and another album with a new lead singer? No, the situation is nothing like Zeppelin. I hope that Brian and Roger stay together under whatever name they choose to use for their band. The '08 tour proved that those two can still rock, and I think they both recognize that without each other, they'd be playing to casino lounges by now. |

They wouldn;t be playing casino lounges, they'd be playing small clubs. And as 60 year olds, I doubt they want to go through that again. So I can't blame them for the route they've taken, and it was good to hear them live again, but their handling of their back catalogue has been poor. |

Queen ended on 24 November 1991. |
beachj 07.11.2009 13:53 |
By saying 'splitting up' you must refer to the end of live shows ? The musical is still doing very well, and a sequel isn't far off.Queen will ALWAYS be associated with Freddie, and great though Mr Rodgers was,he could not possibly hope to fill those enormous shoes. The public obviously agree,as the last figures I have for the Cosmos Rocks is 400,000 worldwide, against 4,000,000 for a low key release such as Queen Rocks in 1997.Will be nice to see John at the Freddie thing in Feltham, may even buy him a pint or two.................. |

Roger at age 60 , i thought it was quite funny. |

I think what the young lady is referring to was the gross over sensationalism by a tabloid, the words are taken out of context to sell a story and to press for information; http://dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/137992/May-to-break-free- Of course its not true. |
