Found this poll asking what is the greatest Madison Square Garden Concert in the 70's?.. And as of right now Led Zeppelin is winning but I dont think Zeppelin should win. Queen isnt really ranking as of right now and I definitely think they should be.. What do you guys think?? here's the link to vote: http://www.msg.com/photos/100-best-madison-square-garden-shows-the-1970s/slide/18/ Get on it!
Most polls are useless, but this one is especially useless because most of the concerts are unknown. Zeppelin's 1973 shows at the Garden became The Song Remains The Same, one of the most popular rock films of all time, so naturally that one is probably going to win. Most of those other shows in the poll were last experienced decades ago, or by a select few fans who managed to grab an audience/bootleg recording.
It'd be like asking people what their favourite food was, and 8 of the 10 foods on the list were delicacies the average person hadn't tasted before, leaving them only able to judge by the picture.
I agree with Sir GH. These polls are useless. And besides, if anybody wanted to do this poll they should be the people that actually went to MSG shows back in the 70's. Somebody that was born in Boise Idaho really has no need to vote unless he was in Manhattan and caught some shows there. The closest I came to a MSG show was when I saw Queen in Providence on 11/14/78. They played in NYC 2 nights later.
I think these unending and banal polls are the reason I don't see myself as a fan of Queen at all. If being a fan means voting for Queen in polls I don't believe in, I'll quite happily miss out! Haha.
The 1978 Queen shows at the Garden weren't even the best Queen shows at the Garden in the 1970's. There can be no best.....just one you like the most, for whatever reasons.

I went to both Jazz shows in November 78 and I though they were brilliant, but I have to say, the February 77 show was my favorite.
I wasn't as fond of the December 77 show, though it was good.
