Way to go Philadelphia Phillies!! Took the series from Los Angeles in a commanding fashion, 4 games to 1. Back in the Fall Classic again! Lets make it 2 in a row!!!!! I want to celebrate a World championship again hearing Freddie sing WATC!!!!
This is going to be an epic battle in the WS. It's the first time in years that the two best teams in baseball are meeting in the Series. Both teams are so evenly matched is could go seven games. I'm taking Phils in six baby!

Not because I'm a fan, but because I HATE the Yankees.
....actually I don't really hate the Yankees.
I hate their fans, because they are the most arrogant fans on the face of the earth.
Actually most people say that about Mets fans. No offence Mike!

New Yorkers pretty much have the most arrogant fanbase, regardless of the team.
However, past success has an influence on the level of arrogance.
Of course, not every single sports fan from NY is an arrogant douche.
However, a lot has to be said about the NY sports press when they have degrading headlines against the rival team.
Like this one from the NY Post:
I remember back in 2001, Newsday a Long Island newspaper had a front page graphic of a Giants helmet crushing a Raven, before the NY Giants were going to play the Baltimore Ravens for the Super Bowl. The Giants got their asses kicked 34–7.

Met fans arrogant?....We have nothing to be arrogant about. We're the losers of ny, and we know it.
I love baseball, am pulling for the Phillies......but thanks to FOX for the past ten+ years, and their annoying close ups, split screens, ten different camera shots between pitches, ......I can only bear about five minutes every half hour.
I had to replace a TV back when Arizona beat NY, because after a hundred close-ups, Randy Johnson's face broke my screen.
Joe Buck and Tim McCarver reak as announcers as well.
(A runner on first for Philly, basehit to rightfield )
McCarver: "Great play by the RF. If he doesn't charge that ball, the runner moves on to 3rd."
Buck: "Good point, Tim."
wtf?!?!!? Is he supposed to stand there, go down on one knee, and under hand it to 2nd base?
Actually, if you charge a powerfully hit ball, it can end up bouncing over your head. Most people watching have actually NEVER played the game of baseball. I think Joe Buck is great.
Can't defend McCarver though, so let's just throw him under the bus. You gotta admit, Buck and Aikman call a great football game.
Well tonight is game six. I think the Phillies can win this. If the bats say hot like in game 5 & Howard can find his swing we will be in great shape. Pedro has full rest & you know he is pumped up for this one. Just like game two. He pitched great! Although, you can pitch an amazing game but if your team only scores 1 run it really doesn't matter. Pettet is pitching on three days rest. That will play into the Phillies favor. Just win tonight!!! What happens in game seven (should the be one), happens. If the Phils lose in game seven I'm OK w/ that. Of course I want them to win but I won't be devistated if they don't.
As for McCarver & Buck, they are head & shoulders above the amatures that TBS had on during the first two rounds of the playoffs. At least McCarver isn't pluging his CD anymore!
I'm predicting a Game 7, with the Yanks better pitching prevailing. I hate the Yanks, but it's hard for me to root against Jeter. Saw him play one game in highschool. At least someone from Kalamazoo went on to great success.
Oh, yes, TBS.......I didn't think they could do baseball worse than golf.....but I was wrong. I miss the old days of ABC and NBC. CBS never quite got it right.
M'wave....I think Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are superb as well. But Joe's heart is not into baseball as much. He's admitted to it, and it shows. And the play I described earlier.....a line drive about ten feet to the left of the 2B, landed about thirty feet in front of the RF.
Wonder how many people survived Sunday....what with the Giants also in Philly that day. A great spoof of it appeared on Monday's 'The Daily Show'. Then again, there wasn't that much satire in it.
Seven to one. I'm afraid it's not looking promising for your boys, Steve. Matsui's having quite a night.
Edit: Sorry Steve. I wasn't the Phillies' year to go all the way. Next year!
at least the Yankee Stadium faithful were hearty singers of the We Are The Champions chorus (pity FOX cut away for the final one for replays, and cut away during the final verses of 'New York, New York'). Chin up, Phillie fans, it could be worse....you could be a Pirate, Royal, or Oriole follower.
