The VMAs weren't terrible last night but they didn't make me too happy. First off Kanye West=dick. Taylor Swift, only 19 won her first VMA and was in the middle of her thank you's when Kanye decided to show his ass, jump on stage, take her mic, and tell everyone that he thought Beyonce should have won. He's entitled to his opinion but he's not entitled to jump on stage like a donkey and ruin someone else's happy moment. The MJ tribute I wasn't satisfied with but I'm not surprised bc it was MTV. Janet's performance was too short, I always want more from Janet though. She sounded odd too. Her clothes looked like white and black garbage bags. Maybe this is the new style [/img] and I am getting old. I loved Green Day, loved Muse, the house band (I wouldn't even go so far to call them that) stunk worse than a toilet full of turds. Lady GaGa is a moron. I didn't hate her performance, the blood was a little off but her outfits are what I hated the most. The red lace thing? The bird's nest around her face? WTF? Does anyone else think that was cool? Did anyone else think that Eminem looked like he had some facial work done? His face looked a little "tight." Discuss your feelings on the VMAs...I hope MJ gets a better tribute at the Grammys. I think he will. I would like to see Usher or NeYo do Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal...or even Dangerous. I love that song. |

Did anyone see the guy during the MJ tribute trying to do the 45 degree leaning step, and almost falling? EPIC FAIL!! |

PURELY for the number of times I've had to endure "Love Story" in various places over the past year, Taylor Swift deserved to be taken down a notch or two. But essentially I don't like what Kanye West did at all. The fact that she didn't have an obvious response to his childish rant only exposed how distasteful it was - if you're going to engage in a silly slinging match, at least pick on someone who can play that game. And I don't even know what he was going on about Beyonce for. Her video was probably just as bad as whatever Taylor Swift did. |

Taylor Swift is really annoying. My friend's girlfriend has status updates on Facebook relating to her lyrics almost always. Often it's "Teardrops on my Guitar" or some other dumb song like that. "Love Story" is one of the cheesiest songs I've heard in my lifetime. Country pop is retarded music. I was really surprised at Kanye doing this. He's one of the few rappers I like; this is so uncharacteristic of him. Publicity stunt? |

Nobody takes the VMA's seriously anyways. |

I don't mean the 'liking Kanye West' bit - you're free to listen to whatever music you want, but 'uncharacteristic'? The guy contrives a new freakout every year (or sometimes even more often) just to try and generate interest in himself. Shatner is way better at it. Shatner at least fools a few people in the process. |

Okay, I was misinformed, I never watch these Awards ceremonies, so I didn't know. Kanye definitely has a bad record. But what I really meant anyway that he always seemed more educated and articulate than all those other rappers... After this, I don't think so anymore. BTW, I finally got around to watch a bit of VMA towards the end, and it was funny when P. Diddy came to announce the Best Male Video nominees and mentioned Kanye, everyone started booing and he was like, "What did I say?"...haha |
Janet 14.09.2009 13:43 |
Kanye West is a classless ass. I am not a fan of Taylor Swift's music, but she seems like a perfectly lovely young woman. Country performers rarely win at the VMA's. This could have been her only chance, and Kanye totally took that moment away from her. He behaved like a spoiled child. At least Beyonce had the grace to give Taylor Swift an opportunity to have her moment. West should be banned from future award shows. He clearly has no idea how to behave in public. |
pma 14.09.2009 15:17 |
There once was a time when I actually knew the songs and performers at the VMA's... So this Taylor Swift is country music? Seriously? The way Americans nowadays call any generic run-of-the-mill pop act "country music" is way more baffling that Kanye West's behaviour at the VMA's. |

Even I admit I had no clue Taylor Swift was labeled as a country artist. She's played on the two of the radio stations I listen to in the car and I do not listen to country music. Wow...I try to keep informed with music and such but I guess I'm slacking! HA! Again I maintain....Kanye=dick. |

As despicable as it Kanye's tantrum was (though entertaining, I must say), the worst part of the night was how MTV wants to shove this whole Twilight crap up our asses. Seriously, I can't wait for this shitty fad to go away. Those books will be collecting dust years from now. |

Mr.Jingles wrote:. Those books will be collecting dust years from now.Try MONTHS. True; there'll be a rotation of young folk who will buy it simply because it's being sold to them actively and aggressively, but it won't be a lasting fanbase. If we're lucky, it'll go away sooner rather than later. I mean; people who just want to whack off over Pattinson or that Kristen Stewart girl, fine. Whatever floats your boat - if stalking does it for you, then great. But I'd be happy if I never had to put up with a single person who insists that the books are actually good in the literal sense. |

I didn't see the show. But I think that MTV thinks that their audience needs to see something outrageous in order to be entertained. So, I would suspect that the producers of the show set this up as a "memorable moment", if not directly, then indirectly by encouraging Kanye to be as outrageous as possible during the show - or something like that. |

I can't stand Kanye West. I'm always getting him and his Greenland-sized ego mixed up with his equally annoying Döppelganger, Sean "I Change My Stage Name Every Ten Minutes" Combs, also known as P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Diddy, and Dinky and whatever else he has dubbed himself. They both think they're far more influential to pop culture than they really are. Pimp Daddy was the one who was hooting and hollering like a wild animal on MTV when Obama was elected president. And then there's Kanye's comment about "GEORGE BUSH DOES NOT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE," and now this. Ugh. I wish they'd both just be exiled from The Galaxy and sent to live on Magrathea, where they can.... can.... sodomise each other with blinged out shutter shades. For all eternity. |

I had just started wondering what Kanye West was doing at Virginia Military Academy, when I figured the title out. I'm still stuck in the 1860s, apparently. |
