Hello ! I remember meeting Roger Taylor at a hotel i was working at in Cambridge. The band were shooting the "Breakthru" video at "Nene Valley Railway."He was just going to the toilets with three rather large heavies in tow ! I managed to shake his hand and say something along the lines of how great he was ! I also got to say "hello" to Freddie but i was a bit starsruck to be honest. The band stayed at the Hotel for a couple of nights and drank and made merry ! Anyone else ?
Close Encounters is a great movie, one of the best things Spielberg ever shot.
But you know what, this : link is more suitable for threads like this one
I met Brian and Roger in Prague back in 2005, when they toured with Paul Rodgers. I saw them in Vienna and Munich before that. I caught a glipse of Brian in his limo in Vienna but I didn't get the chance to briefly meet him until Prague.
We waited outside of their hotel which was right next to the Karluv bridge in gorgeous Prague. Brian was late for the rehearsal and eventhough he seemed a bit annoyed by our presence, he signed authographs to most of us. I got him to autograph my ticket, as I didn't have anything else for him to write on. Didn't talk to him or anything.
After the show, at night, we got to see him again in the same spot. He seemed tired and -once again- annoyed but he was nice enough to stay and sign. When he signed my Tour Book I accidentally put my sweaty thumb on top of his signature and it rubbed off. I gave it to him again saying "it rubbed off" (whiny asshole, I know) but when he saw his signature he said "Oh, it doesn't look too bad", hehe :).
When Roger came up I got to tell him (among the crowd) that he was great and that I had come from Mexico and he said "Really? From Mexico?". I was 5th in line or something and when I got to the front of the line Roger was leaving. I said "Come on.. I came from Mexico to see you". He turned around to see me and told his bodyguard "I'll just sign his"; he went back and signed my tourbook. He is as cool as you want your Rock stars to be, yet very nice.
Earlier that day I had collected Danny Miranda's, Jamie Moses' and Spike Edney's signatures. Spike was a bit arrogant but charming, saying "Oh, didn't I gave you my autograph already today?... Are you sure?". Danny was the nicest man, almost surprised I asked for his autograph. Jamie was also nice, when he heard I was from Mexico he said he had a band that played "Tex-Mex" music. I was silent, I really didn't know what to say about that, haha :).
Sorry for the long post. I got carried away once again :).
