Im not really concerned that Queen are not on there.... would of been nice to see queen 2.... but what can you do when fools can be kings. |
Major Tom 07.09.2009 20:03 |
To whomever let themselfes be bothered by the stupidity of these lists.. Define Heavy Metal. I sure as fuck can't see Nirvanas "Nevermind" and Metallica "MOP" under the same category. Not that I don't like them both, it's just...fucked up. RS-Magazine deja vu! |
SaskQueenFan 07.09.2009 20:46 |
Queen is not really a "heavy metal" band to begin with.. so that is why you won't see them on there. You can't really classify most of their material in any one rock category, the music is so varied... it would be more upsetting if they didn't crack the top 100 of a rock 'n roll list. |

john bodega 07.09.2009 22:56 |
Something's wrong with that list, Dio is underneath Metallica. |
Saif 08.09.2009 08:44 |
What a crap list...what the hell are Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Nirvana and Pink Floyd doing there? The absence of Queen is the least of the problems on that list... They've only listed one Rainbow album("Rising") when they should've listed all three Dio-era ones and even "Rising" is ranked too low. No Megadeth in top 10? Fuck you, Metal Hammer! All of Death and Megadeth's albums are ranked quite low. And where's Carcass? I think even Children of Bodom's first 3 albums should've made the list compared to the tripe that has been included. |
mike hunt 08.09.2009 08:49 |
one things for sure, Queen don't belong on that list. Even their heaviest albums like sheer heart wern't metal albums. Queen were too good to be a metal band. |
***Marial-B*** 08.09.2009 09:18 |
Since when Pink Floyd is a heavy metal band???? |
mike hunt 08.09.2009 09:57 |
yea, that's a joke. Queen are even heavier than floyd. |
lalaalalaa 09.09.2009 07:51 |
This list is a bit Metallica biased. Megadeth is a much better band BTW- Queen is pretty heavy. Heavier than some on this list. |

This list is pretty cool. Some minor fuck-ups, but yeah, most bands I like there. [/img] |
Mr.Jingles 10.09.2009 21:47 |
Even Jethro Tull is more Metal than Pink Floyd! Now that's a list that the Grammys would be proud of. LOL! The reaction of Alice Cooper when he read "Jethro Tull" as a nominee is priceless. |

I mean Kill Em All was good for an underground metal band playing small clubs, but the following 4 Metallica albums showed their true potential. |

I disagree, I like Kill Em All far more than ...And Justice For All. In fact, Kill Em All is my second favorite Metallica album. |

I hoped you meant it in the sense that they're thrash/speed metal.... Saxon is NWOBHM and definitely metal. Do you mean to tell me you consider Slipknot more metal than Saxon? Twisted Sister, despite being glam, is one of the few glam metal bands who could actually qualify as actual metal(1st two albums) along with WASP and early Motley Crue. I think they suck but they're definitely metal. Def Leppard on the other hand are not...(but their debut album is NWOBHM). Accept is also pure headbanging metal and the album you've "discredited" is actually their most popular containing the epic "Princess of the Dawn". Rainbow's "Rising" is also heavy metal. The album has Stargazer ffs. That song's considered proto-Power Metal. |
pittrek 12.09.2009 08:39 |
Hi Saif, yes, I consider them METAL but not HEAVY METAL. E.g. Master Of Puppets is speed / trash / power metal, Painkiller is speed metal, etc. |

what pink floyd is doing there??? |

BTW, MOP isn't power metal, at least not in the modern definition of the genre. |

this is list of best heavy metal albums and a lot of metal genres are on it (nwobhm, speed, trash) along with some hard rock albums like back in black, taken by force, appetite for destruction... there's all genres of metal and it should be that way when this kind of polls are created |
