Roger Daltrey has revealed that he and Pete Townshend are demoing songs for a new Who album.
The pair hope to go on tour next year and are considering the idea of a huge Quadrophenia production, or even performances of Tommy.
Daltrey is to go out on a solo tour of America next month. The trek
is being dubbed Use It Or Lose It, and his set might include covers
from the likes of Johnny Cash. The singer will film or record these
shows for a possible future release.
I saw them last year. I went expecting a good concert. I left blown away by a great concert. Baba O'Riley had the entire arena in a frenzy. Fantastic show.

Seen them live already.
Wembley Arena, London. 27th June 2007.
I was front row. They were epic.
Roger and Pete cracking jokes in the middle of songs... Good memories. xD
They are always a fun concert. I saw them back in 02 in PA just after Entwhistle passed away. That was an amazing show! Zack Starky (sp), is an amazing drummer. In many ways he carries the show. I saw them again last autum in Philly. I didn't think it was a as good as the 02 show but it was still good albeit a lot shorter concert. Still it will always be one of the greatest nights of my life. Not only did the Phillies go up 3 games to 1 in the World Series, after returning home, my wife told me she was pregnant with our first child. So The Who will always be special to me. I hope they return again next year!

I think he's in good voice for an old bugger. Actually it's Pete's singing that I miss more than Roger - Roger still hits the important notes, or gives them a good kicking. Pete sounds more like Grover when he tries to sing these days.
Having said that, the gig I went to in March was a dream come true. The Tommy stuff alone - if I shut my eyes during Sparks it could've been 35 years ago and I probably wouldn't have noticed.
Saw them in 2007 and would definitely go again. Amazing experience - even though listening back to one of the official recordings isn't exactly a pleasurable experience IMO...
It's funny that the who get away with recording and performing as the who, but Queen gets criticized. Recording without keith moon?....how dare they!.......how was their last album?.....is it worth checking out?
I really think it depends on who you take out. With Keith and John gone, they still make Who-esque music because the writer and the singer can still sort of translate it correctly (with Zak on the drums at least).
I think Face Dances and It's Hard were the worst thing ever though. Kenney Jones was a fucking joke as a Who drummer, irrespective of his talents in other acts ... he was just plain wrong for the Who.
I liked their 2006 album, in places at least. Don't buy it expecting a Quadrophenia or anything but there are some brill moments on it.
Yeah, they put out official recordings of their 2006/2007 tour. Bought the CD/DVD set from the Rotterdam show I attended, but was surprised at how bad some of the vocals sound - something I didn't notice in a live setting. Still a great show and I'd definitely see them again if they come around again next year or so :)
Actually I think I kinda get what you mean - I shared a good sized (40 min) chunk of the show I saw in Perth in March, and when I was at the show the volume kinda took the age out of Roger's voice.
I mean I think he sounds fine on the video too, it's down to personal taste, but when I was at the show the vocals sounded, I dunno ... younger! Must be the loudness.
