I have just returned from London, where summer was held this year instead of our usual 2 weeks in Canada.Of course, I went to Freddie's at 1 Logan Place. There have been some changes around the place recently. Last November, there was a row of nice looking small flats just being finished up around Logan Mews. I wanted to see if there were any "For Let" signs up. No such luck. They all appeared to be occupied. No's 5&6 are at the end overlooking Freddie's (Mary's)garden & numbered like a double flat.5&6 on the glass above the door and a double car garage. The new flats at Logan Mews are all whitewashed.
The dark green doors of Logan Place have been recently re-painted. There is of course Garden Lodge and now the end door closest to the s/w corner (tradesmens entrance) has a new brass handle and says 'Studio Entrance'in white paint on the dark green.
Naturally I'm curious, as to what might be happening.Does anyone have any concrete news on the subject? I wasn't about to go ringing the bell and invading Mary's privacy. After all it's been her home for almost 18 yrs now, to do with what she will.I'm just interested because as I recall she wanted to turn it into a museum originally and Freddie would have none of that. He wanted her living there, using it as her family home. It was just so surprising to see the newly painted doors and especially the second one. By the way does anyone know Mary's married name? I'd be interested in knowing if anything at all is going on in the way of change. It's become a kind of pilgrimage for all Freddie's fans being so much easier to get to than Montreux.
I wasn't sure if you knew, but weren't nos 5 and 6 part of 1 Logan Place? Those two houses were made into 1, the garage put in and you could get into no 1 from there. Guests stayed there.
I live relatively near, but in much less opulent surroundings!! Even though it's a walk, I'm always disappointed, you can't see anything but the wall and the door and it's an extremely quiet little street. It leaves me feeling strangely empty, perhaps because it is a family home and you feel like you're intruding...
Hello, Voice of Reason 2010, Yes, Freddie owned Logan Mews. It was the most awkward arrangement especially units 5&6 which are attached to the wall of Garden Lodge. At first Freddie owned the bottom portions and another man owned the tops. It seemed very complicated. Freddie wanted his conservatory out here and ended up, after he gained total ownership, gutting 5&6 and re arranging the garage so that the garage was under #5 then a sitting room at the bottom of #6 with an entry from Garden Lodge. You enter the conservatory through #6. #5 seems small for a garage. The last time I visited I had a very unsettling experience. I was walking on the cobblestone drive down near #1. There was a silver Porsche parked outside. It was a beautiful August day and so the door was open.I heard piano music coming from inside and walked toward it. With the time of day and the room was back lit with light ,all I could see was a black grand piano and a man sitting playing. I stood for a few moments and toyed with going up to the door. My typical Canadian reserve took over and I continued walking slowly past his car. I still wonder who he is and where he learned to play so beautifully.Next time!
Go ahead... ring the bell. End the mystery.
Demand the truth, don't take 'NO' for an answer. And tell 'em those drapes look horrible.
Then I'd have 'em make you a sandwich.
Microwave you are a sick man
"Delilah! Get out of that microwave and stop peeing on the drapes.
The mews are great but I can't close the garage door with my Audi A8L. Strictly for the Porsche crowd. I don't get into anything that requires a canopener for my removal. Come to think of it--they don't all have garages
Conctrete news as to why Mary Austin has had a door painted??? did I just read that right?? I couldnt give a flying fuck if it was yellow with pink dots! Its her house, she can do whatever the bloody hell she wants. And as for Montreux.....book a plane....it didnt cos me much.
Yes, Brian Mays Wig --concrete-- as in solid , firm. Did you get Brian's wig on too tight this morning or forget to take your meds maybe?? Time for a round of ECT- electroshock therapy that aught to cool you out. The point of interest for my small mind was that after all these years the name on the doorhad been changed to " Studio Entrance" instead of tradesman's entrance.
I don't know where you live but chances are it's a heck of a lot easier to get to Montreux for you than for me. Cost is not the factor it's time. But why am I wasting mine with an odd little duck like yourself who gets his shorts in a knot over nothing. Je vais a Londres et je vais a Paris en Octobre.Maintenant il est temps de se coucher.Bonne nuit!

I cant believe they decorated the place. Absolute disgrace. They should keep it in a timewarp forever to please Queen fans.....
Qu'est-ce que c'est? Mooghead? Une personne retardee?
Oui, toujour, toujour. No maintenance. No cleaning up the writing that people mean as tributes but after awhile just create a messy unkempt looking place.
Lets face it Queen did enter a timewarp when Freddie died. It took Mary,by her own admission years to deal with Freddie's death. She didn't feel she should or could make any changes to the house. To her his taste was perfect and what could she do to change perfection? Others may have found it a little over the top but Freddie had left it to Mary to do with as she wished. For a long, long time it was a shrine, both to her and to his(Queen's) fans. But let's not confuse decorating with maintenance. Bonsoir Moogy.
One of the persons on this portal is sharing the journey to the Logan place that is a beautiful one. Although, you can follow https://www.aussiessay.com/assignment-help.php this reference to know more about the different perspectives of them.
