I need a little help here. For years now the typical Queen albums in the car are Queen I, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera and the Miracle. However I've never managed to play Innuendo as much as I want becaues there is too many other albums and little space and the album got damaged. A Day at the Races, News of the World, Jazz, The Game, The Works, A Kind of Magic have not had much of a chance either to be played in the car. I' m yet to buy Made in Heaven and I don't want Hot Space and Flash Gordon. The albums I am keen to keep in the car are Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera and I'll leave Queen I and the Miracle out at the moment. I could play Queen's first 6 Albums and then Keep the albums I want to play and listen to others. Greatest Hits albums even struggle to get a spot in the car playlist.
well that depends on you mood and how far is the trip..I remeber driving 400km and listening to Innuendo while I was watching nice landscapes...it was nice and relaxing...the same for Made in Heaven, but if you just drive to your job back in town..well that's different, isn't it?...and give a chance to Hot space..In my case I like to listen to Live almbus when I drive, for example..you listent to the entire Live at Wembley show and is like been there, you get a real concctiion than listening to just one or two songs... if you travel by yourself is even better..now with a nice girl beside you sharing the trip, is much fun..I have my own compilation for those cases..
Make your own! I've got a mixtape-deal that is built kind of like a Queen concert, complete with intros and a "medley." Let's me hear my favorites from each album while I'm driving.
Why limit yourself to 6? I have a huge CD wallet I take on long trips, which include all the original albums, the hits cds, Queen Rocks, 2 home-made CDs with all the 12" mixes and a CD of all the non-album tracks.
If I had to pick 6, I'd take Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, The Game and A Kind Of Magic, though if you handed me any 6 at random, I'd be happy.
I have to agree with Marcelo, listening to a full Queen live album during a long car ride is great. A great live one is called Queen Rock Montreal, which was recorded during The Game tour. Wembley is also a great recording. Along with these two live albums, I recommend Innuendo, Sheer Heart Attack, Jazz, and Queen II. Although I love every Queen album, these are my favorites.

I'd go with:
Greatest Hits
Classic Queen
Queen Rocks
Greatest Hits II
Stone Cold Classics
Absolute Greatest
Make sure you take both the UK and the US/HR version of Greatest Hits. This way you'll make sure you listen to about 10 tracks at least 4 or 5 times :).
Now, seriously, I have listened to most of my Queen records in my car over the past couple of months and these are my favorite albums to drive to in order of preference. I couldn't resist from writing a bit for each album.
The Game:
Too bad it's too short, but it includes two of my favorite album tracks: Need your loving tonight and Rock it. And no, a US/Canada single release with no promo video that barely charted at all doesn't count :).
Hot Space:
Plain and simple fun, and it includes one of my favorite Queen songs ever: Under Pressure. Dancer is SO underrated!
ANATO:
Pure genius, yet still a very accessible album. The first 5 tracks flow beautifully, although I usually skip Sweet Lady, the Prophet's Song and Good Company. Prophet's is great but I don't recommend listening to the vocal section in heavy traffic.
Sheer Heart Attack:
Another great album that is too damn short. Still, it flows greatly from one song to the next, it's got great arrangements but is still very ear pleasing. I only skip Misfire and She Makes Me.
Innuendo:
Awesome start and finish with two of the best epic Queen songs, some great tunes in the middle. Songs like Headlong, I can't live with you and specially Ride the Wild Wind are great for speeding. And don't tell me you don't scream like crazy each time "All God's People" comes up.
ADATR:
Love the sound. When I'm done listening to it and it starts again (with the same music) I just want it to play all over again. I like Tie Your Mother Down, Good Old Fasioned Llover Boy and -specially- Drowse. Teo Torriatte is a beautiful Queen anthem just for the sake of it but is still beautiful.
I know long posts are universally hated in forums but I couldn't help it, haha :)
Create your own discs and shoe-horn tracks on at the end of each album. For example, you can fill up one disc with "Queen" and "Queen II" etc. Don't go on past "The Game" though
Alternatively, make your own Deluxe edition by adding "Silver Salmon", "Polar Bear", "The De Lane Lea Demos" and a live version of "Hangman" at the end of "Queen", for example.
