What would be Queen's best Song: Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Vocal
| qrock 20.08.2009 16:37 |
This is a question that interests me. I do play the drumms (average) and I would love to know what was Roger's best drumming moment with Queen throughout a song. I would also like to know what was Brian's best Riff, Solo and touches, Freddie's Vocal range and Piano touches and John's deep Bass |

Cool topic! Drums: "Brighton Rock" though certain live versions of "Keep Yourself Alive" could also take that distinction. Bass: "Millionaire Waltz". Guitar: Mmmm.... either "All Dead, All Dead" or "Was It All Worth It". The former because it's a showcase of what Brian could do with overdubs, and the latter because it's one of the best displays of his chops. His playing on that whole album is pretty neat. Piano: I can't really pick. "March of the Black Queen" is pretty nice but it's been a while since I heard it. Vocals: "The Show Must Go On". My best mate is of the opinion that Freddie sounds 'sick' but either way it's a vocal that shows off everything that Queen were about. It has the delicate side, it has the pure fuckin' balls that Freddie had in his voice, it has all the drama - it's perfect. |

Drums: White Man Bass: The Millionaire Waltz Guitar: Stone Cold Crazy Piano: My Melancholy Blues Vocal: The Show Must Go On Note: Drums was the hardest to decide and my opinion will probably change eventually. But the drumming is exceedingly heavy and raw -- quite simply his work on that track kicked a**. But then there are other tracks like Long Away where his work was just as effective, but in a different mood. |

I was almost going to do a similar topic after a bass run in the second verse of Killer Queen caught my ear as being particularly nice work from Deaky. Anyway... oh so many... Vocal - Innuendo, A Winter's Tale, Mother Love, FWBF, TMLWKY^ Piano - It's A Hard Life, Doin' Alright*, Teo Toriatte*, IABD Guitar - Great King Rat, Sweet Lady, Princes of the Universe, YDFM, Killer Queen, TMLWKY Drums - TAtDoOL, The Night Comes Down, Princes of the Universe, Las Palabras, TMLWKY Bass - YDFM, Don't Try Suicide, Bo Rhap *I know these two are Brian's playing, but whatever goes. ^The Heaven version, of course. And as for putting it in some many categories... well, it's one of the album highlights! |
