Do we have to be serious when unserious is more healthy? This is my aunt gipsydeepsy and she reads the future................ As per yesterday only about 12 to 15 people know of this: Beginning August of next year Queen (without paul rodgers thank God) will tour with Adam Lambert and there's a 75% chances KISS will tour together too. |

OK RAF mister deity with over 8000 posts, you make it sound like if we are choosing the next planet we should visit, or like if we are disecting Obama's health plan. Gosh RAF we are not inside the pentagon nor are we navy seals trying to plan an attack to get that looney president from Korea. Man Oh man.......................chill. You want serious issues? (A) Paul Rodgers was great with spirit and bad company but with Queen?Hell no it was an insult to those who adore freddie,Paul Rodgers with Queen was like a rape of the good taste, it was like Borat replacing Robert Plant on Led Zep. (B) Queen without mister Deacon is like Paul Rodgers impersonating Samantha Fox and singing like Donna Summer. (C) Roger and Brian in my opinion did not have to tour without Deacon, that was betraying an old buddy. (D) Whom ever the hell is coming up with this crap of Queen greatest hits is a crook, a hound dog looking for money,a opportunist whore. **There's nothing new to hear when it comes to Queen,we already heard it all and we should keep it like that, queen's music is sacred so don't present me more of the same. (E) Instead of soliciting, washed out singers, wanna be singers, new singers,I'm still in the closet singers,I'm out of the closet singers, Queen should just called mister Deacon and tour with Freddie in the backgrounds, yes re live those moments just like natalie and nat king cole did on the video remember. (F) Queen without Freddie should not tour, is an insult to all the fans,Queen with Paul,George,Adam,Axel,Duffy Duck and even with the ghost of Freddie is not Queen, stop the nonsense and the charade, Queen was great, let's keep the memories unmolested and let's be thankful we were born in the era that Queen was happening. There is this serious enough for you? |

It's just that the website is so organized as to enable the users to quickly and easily find the topics they're more interested in and to discuss and focus on them without being annoyed, or having their experience spoiled, by someone who, willingly or not, winds up disturbing or diverting the discussion. Think of it as an effort to make a city better and more functional. Suppose you wanna play soccer, for instance. In a civilized form of human organization, be it a city or a village, you'll find proper places to do it: fields, empty spaces, parks, and so on. It'd be rude of you, and you'll end up getting frustrated as well, if you entered the local church or a University library and started playing it. If you're alone and have no one to play with, you'd be better-off being respectful towards other people by asking them: "May I join in and play with you guys?", and so on. Same here. You wanna have uncrompomised fun? There's a place you can do it without annoying people and without being annoyed either - the personal forum. Here, you'll end up annoying people who give up part of their time and resources to have a serious discussion about a topic they're interested in; and these people, in return, will end up picking you up and giving you a very hard time. No one wins, unless his/her only intentions are stirring things up and disturbing or disrespecting other people. You raised a lot of questions people would love to talk about with you - that is, if you did it in an organized way, opening up a proper thread devoted to the topics, and behaved respectfully towards them cause if they feel you only want to draw their attention or get on their nerves, they'll answer in kind and poke fun at you and make your experience here on the website, whatever the alias you use, a hell. Honest well-intentioned advice: you have already tried, without coming up with any proof or presenting any legitimate reason for bringing up such a personal issue, tarnish the reputation of a user whom people here have a lot of respect for. The thread ran for pages and no one backed you up. It is clear this attitude is not doing you any good. It's up to you to change it. Regards, Yara |

hello Yara, nice meeting you,the way you express yourself is not bad for an 18 year old. Thanks for your opinion/lecture/advise. I still don't get your point, what ever you wrote is like going in circles and at the end you end up with nothing. I know about courtesy, liberty of expression, and I practice that. You still insist on pointing out that this is a site for serious issues? I did my part, I left you and the rest a few issues to argue and discuss and nobody answered. Queen as a band was great,is in my heart # **1**. Freddie passed away, John was betrayed(if I'm wrong correct me)they choose Rodgers to do what?imitate, honor, attract the Bad Company fans? or just used him and used the fans and the nostalgia to fill their pockets? Wake up, what's more serious than hearing Freddie's masterpieces in a voice that is superb but not Freddie? You are from Brazil? right? about serious issues like your poverty?the crime at the favelas!! I love Queen but don't give me that absurdity of asking me to be serious, serious about what? |

erick mckay wrote: Thanks for your opinion/lecture/adviseYou're welcome. Though I don't have neither the knowledge nor the right to lecture anyone here. I prefer to think of my message to you as opinion/advise/exchange of ideas. I still don't get your point, what ever you wrote is like going in circles and at the end you end up with nothing. I know about courtesy, liberty of expression, and I practice that. Then maybe I don't express myself more or less well, but quite badly - this is a point most users would agree with you on, though. ;- ))) You still insist on pointing out that this is a site for serious issues? No. I insist on saying that this section of the site is devoted to serious discussion about a certain issue. So it's not: a) the whole site; b) I'm not saying the issue is per se serious - it can be approached in a serious way: after all, music is important to many of us - it shapes our lives, it becomes over time the background of many of our life experiences; c) music, as an art form, even in its most popular manifestations, can be addressed in a serious manner, why not? One may discuss the technical side of it; some might like to discuss the influence of the band on the pop culture; some will discuss the quality of the musicians and their work; and so on. I did my part, I left you and the rest a few issues to argue and discuss and nobody answered. Why has there been no answer? That's what I asked myself and tried to give my opinion on. Queen as a band was great,is in my heart # **1**.It's even in your heart. See how serious it can be? ; -)) Freddie passed away, John was betrayed(if I'm wrong correct me)they choose Rodgers to do what?imitate, honor, attract the Bad Company fans? or just used him and used the fans and the nostalgia to fill their pockets?Freddie passed away, I agree; they choose Rodgers do do what? Well, to sing! He's a great singer - ah, yes, I bet they wanted to make money, but that was true of Freddie as well and is true of most, if not all, artists. John was betrayed? I don't know, Erick: if he didn't want to keep playing and didn't object to the guys doing so, maybe he wasn't really betrayed - the right question, to which there's no answer unless John himself brings it up, would be, I think: "Does he feel betrayed"? He didn't create any barrier when the guys wanted to use Queen +, to the best of our knowledge: so, again, if he feels betrayed, he has an odd way of demonstrating it, but yes, it's possible he feels this way, who knows. Wake upNo, please, you sound like my wake up alarm clock. ; -)) what's more serious than hearing Freddie's masterpieces in a voice that is superb but not Freddie?Well, so it is serious? The issue "Queen" can be discussed seriously and experienced seriously? You are from Brazil? right? It's not my fault, I swear. about serious issues like your poverty?the crime at the favelas!!Queen is more serious than our Senate nowadays. Anyway, issues are serious in different degrees: I'd say that Queen's music and music in general can be approached as a serious issue; poverty and the crimes can be approached as comedy, as our politicians do. I think some issues are more urgent and serious than others - just like poverty/crimes vs Queen - but there's enough time to tend to both: even the most dedicated humanitarian has his hobbies, and when he tends to them he may take them seriously sometimes: a friend who works in the same Human Rights Organization as I do likes to play chess and cards. He can have great fun while playing these games and also endure some distress and go out of his mind because of them: sometimes he gets angry with the game or his partners in the game in such a way that he really gets in a foul mood, even though he works 12 hours a day, risking his life even, with such serious issues as crimes and poverty. I love Queen but don't give me that absurdity of asking me to be serious, serious about what?Serious about music. About a hobbie which gives you joy, pleasure and sometimes even shapes your experiences. About something which takes a good deal of your time. Serious, why not?, about music as an art form: a poor person may even devote her/his life to music. Many do. Music can be of vital importance for people living under these conditions of a lot of stress - music can be seriously fun for these people: if they don't have it, if they don't have something they can relate to in their lives and which is important to them, all they have left is their own dispossession. Just enjoying and listening to music and getting to know it better and learning it - serious thing! - may help them getting out of their plights. Besides, don't mistake seriousness for graveness. "Serious discussion" here means: it's the part of the website in which Queen is discussed seriously because people want to learn more about the band. And it can be discussed seriously, with knowledge and respect, but in a light, friendly and even fun way: seriousness and fun are not opposites. Regards, Yara |

Just a little quote from the owner
POST IN THE RIGHT FORUM OR RISK BEING DELETED Hi All, Please be aware of the new forums.General Queen topics e.g. polls, fave songs, fave members, etc, should be posted in the Queen General forum. More serious collector type topics get to go in the Queen serious forum.I have created a move function so i will be moving topics that are not in their appropriate forum. If you still continue to ignore this, i will delete the topic. The next step is that i will delete your account and ban you from posting on Queenzone.comThe last step is, that if people can't do the right thing, i am going to close the forum down altogether.I am really sick of having to use my limited spare time to fix things for people that can't use this site properly.PLEASE TRY AND DO THE RIGHT THING. |
