has anyone seen a queen cover band.or some call them tribute band.
were they any good.
i ask because i took my 11 year old son to see.the bon jovi experiance.
musically perfect,vocally very good.
but the singer was so far up his own arse it hurt lol.
but at £11 for a complete 2 hour show, good value.and my son liked it.
You should check out Queen For A Day on youtube and at myspace with Gregory Finsley .he sometimes joins up with Queen Nation on the west coast Enjoy

Gary Mullen and the works have their "one night of queen" show. Garys voice is pretty close to magic tour Freddie.
But as the show has been recognised and praised by Brian May the ticket prices
can get quite high depending on where you are in the world.
I've also seen the UK
tribute band "mercury", I kind of felt sorry for those guy's, they
were playing out in the open, in the pouring rain to about 10 people who showed
up. The guy doing Freddie slipped over during radio gaga. Still entertaining for
the £4 50 I paid for a ticket.
Aren’t cover bands and tribute bands different, a cover band plays the songs as
themselves, while a tribute band dresses up?

Sounds like a spot on Jon Bon Jovi impression, if you ask me. [/img]
To answer the question, though, I saw Gary Mullen & The Works this year. Didn't know quite how this tribute band thing would be, if the audience would sit or stand, if it would be cheesy... I really enjoyed it, though. The crowd was up at the stage in no time and seemed to be into it. Both the vocals and the band were great.
I second the Gary Mullen and One Night of Queen recommendation. It was truly a fantastic show and he was very nice to those getting autographs and pictures after the show.
The show is a combo cover/tribute. Gary plays Freddie and the rest of the band is just the band (a very good band!) and not Roger, Brian, or John.
Check'em out if you can.
