If there are any fellow Green Day fans out there, humor me on this. Give the title track of "21st Century Breakdown" a listen, and see if it doesn't scream "Bohemian Rhapsody" to you. The whole song, both structurally and (in some places) instrumentally seems to be Green Day's Bo Rhap. That's not a slight of Green Day--I had to really listen for it to notice. It's not a blatant rip-off (as many bands have done), but instead a classy tip of the hat. Green Day are documented Queen fans, and I can't help but wonder if Billie Joe was listening to ANATO when he was working on ideas for the new album.
Either way, it's a great song. I've seen it described in reviews as their most "epic" song, and I'm inclined to agree. Just curious to see if anyone else picked up on the Bo Rhap influence.
